What happens when you die in Lords of the Fallen? When you fall in combat or die during a boss fight, do you miss out on all of your Vigor? Do you lose everything that you had? This is a Dark Souls-style game, after all, there must be some repercussions for dying.
Soulslike games typically have a revival mechanic that allows you to come back to life without your Souls or whatever currency is a stand-in for them. In Lords of the Fallen, you might be interested in how to save the game in case you die.
To make sure you don’t die, you should consider choosing what we think is the best starting class in Lords of the Fallen. You should also know how to upgrade weapons in Lords of the Fallen. In the event that you do die in the game, it isn’t the end, but what happens? What happens when you die in Lords of the Fallen?
What happens when you die in Lords of the Fallen?
You will die twice in Lords of the Fallen before it is game over. If your character dies in Axiom, you will get transported to the Umbral Realm. This appears to happen by magic from your Umbral Lamp. If you die in the Umbral Realm, you will start back over at the last Vestige that you rested at in this death loop.
This is similar to other soulslikes and how they handle death and like the Bonfire mechanic in Dark Souls. The Umbral Mechanic allows you to get a second chance before dying for good. Once in the Umbral Realm, the gameplay is mostly the same with a slight twist. Additional enemies will spawn and if you stay too long, a reaper will appear.
During your playthrough, if you happen to die, you will be sent back to the last checkpoint without your Vigor. You can get your lost Vigor by defeating the enemy carrying it or picking it up where you last died. Don’t worry, you won’t lose additional gear like your sword or any of your Inferno and Radiance spells.
While in the Umbral Realm, you can return to the realm of Axiom by finding an effigy. Interact with it to go back to the realm of the living and be able to die again without it being game over.
Do you lose your Vigor when you die in Lords of the Fallen?
Yes. If you die, you will lose all of your Vigor that you have on your player character.
Is there a way to keep your Vigor upon death in Lords of the Fallen?
Yes. You can do away with the frustration of losing your Vigor by using a Vigor Moth.
Can you return to Axiom after you enter the Umbral Realm?
You can return to the realm of the living by finding an effigy and interacting with it.
