Where to find Mendacious Visage in Lords of the Fallen

Mendacious Visage is located in the Forsaken Fen. The closest checkpoint is the Vestige of Valade. From this Vestige, go into the swamp as you would go to the Hushed Saint boss fight. Instead of continuing to the left, enter the Umbral Realm with your Umbral Lamp and go through where the water was.

This will lead you around to the boss arena of Mendacious Visage. Along the way, you should see the Iron Wayfarer. You can knock down a ladder shortcut to make reaching the boss easier in the future.

Mendacious Visage is a tough boss because you can’t really damage it unless you find a way to open its shell. Until then, you can get pummelled with attacks from other enemies and the boss. Let’s break down the fight.

Tips for defeating Mendacious Visage

When you enter the boss arena, you will be in the Umbral Realm. You will remain here throughout the fight so be careful not to die as there are no second chances. Before tackling the boss, it is helpful to go around the arena and defeat the various smaller enemies. They will release frostbite magic during the fight if you don’t take care of them.

After clearing the enemies, you can focus on the boss. Go in front of the boss and use your Soulflay ability to open the outer shell of the boss and see its weak spot. With the shell open, it will start using Frostbite attacks. Dodge through these and get in a few hits.

Back off every now and then when you see the boss starting an attack. Come back in close for a few hits before backing off again. Make sure you have armor that is good against frostbite if you end up getting caught in the boss’ attacks. Stamina management is also important if affected by frostbite.

After a brief while, Mendacious Visage will close its outer shell. When this happens, go around the arena and look for tumors to siphon. Once you have a Soulfflay charge again, go crack open the boss’ barrier and start using melee attacks again. You can also use magic if you want to keep at a distance as both Inferno and Umbral spells are good against this boss.
