Lords of the Fallen – How to free the tortured prisoner

Freeing the Tortured Prisoner requires you to go out of your way but she can ultimately be found near where you fought Pieta. Get your Umbral Lamp ready. Here is how to free the Tortured Prisoner in Lords of the Fallen.

Where to find the Tortured Prisoner in Lords of the Fallen

Before freeing the prisoner, you need to locate her. Start by going to the Vestige of Chabui. From there, go out the door and climb down the ladders. You will see two platforms hanging and rotating. Use these to jump across to the other wooden platform.

From there, follow the wooden platforms until you reach the elevator. Take the elevator up. Go down the curved stairs to the bridge. Before you can open the door to the prisoner’s location, you need to get your hands on the Skyrest bridge Key which can be found in this area.

To get the key, you must use your Umbral Lamp to access the Umbral Realm. Once you have the key, make your way back to the start of the bridge. You will see a locked door. Open it with the key.

Go to the far end of the room, mind the corpses, and go up the spiral staircase. At the top, you will find the Tortured Prisoner.

How to free the Tortured Prisoner in Lords of the Fallen

To free the Tortured Prisoner in Lords of the Fallen, start by going back down the stairs to the statue-lined entrance of the crypt. From here, enter the Umbral Realm. You will see a ladder between the statues near the entrance. Climb it.

At the top of the ladder is an Umbral Entity that will be blocking your way. You must Soulflay three corpses to get rid of it. They can be found in the following locations:

• First corpse – To the right of the Umbral Entity
• Second corpse – Central part of the Crypt near the causeway
• Third corpse – On the side of the causeway

After you Soul Flay each of the corpses, the door will be open and you can proceed past the Umbral Entity. You will see an Umbral Belly. Soulflay it to obtain the Searing Accusation Inferno Catalyst. Bring this item to the Tortured Prisoner.

The next time you rest at a vestige and return, the Tortured Prisoner’s cell will be empty. All that will remain is the Tortured Prisoner’s Head Cage helmet. From here, the Tortured Prisoner will move to the other side of Pieta’s boss arena.

From this point on, the Tortured Prisoner will sell you pyromancy spells as you try to complete her quest. For instance, she has the Conflagration spell, Charred Finger, and various armor pieces for sale. As part of her quest, you will need to obtain the Charred Letter, the Giant Eyeball, defeat the Spurned Progeny boss, and gift her the Swaddling Cloth.
