Yumanri Lake diverts quite drastically from the typical stage up to that point in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess, taking Soh, Yoshiro, and their gang of villagers on a rocky boat trip. Careful strategic planning still applies, but there are a few new variables, including cannons to blast Seethe out of the water.

We’ll walk you through how to survive the boat journey and tick off all three optional objectives, which are to avoid any boats sinking, defeat 10 Hirafugai before they reach the boats, and defeat 20 Seethe using the cannons.

Yuminari Lake villager roles and setup

Before diving into the stage, you’ll want to fully upgrade your archers so that they have the Health Increase 1, Attack Power 1, Incendiary Shot, Health Increase 2, Attack Power 2, and Double Shot upgrades. Alongside, dip into Soh’s upgrades and unlock the Pinnacle Shot under the archery category. This skill dishes out severe damage and depletes an enemy’s Resist Gauge with a powerful charged shot. You can also equip villager-buffing Mazo Talismans like the Demon Seat for an extra boost, but these aren’t crucial.

As soon as you load into Yumnari Lake, liberate all 10 villagers from their cocoons and purge all the defilement. The village is fairly small so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding them all. You can also dig up the buried chests with a thief to get some extra crystals and Musubi. It’s also worth breaking a few pots and liberating some of the defilement creatures for extra healing rations. Set all the villagers to the archer role, then fast forward to night time.

Yuminari Lake strategy

As soon as you land on the boats, assign two archers to the front left boat, two to the front right boat, three to the back left boat, and three to the back right boat as seen in the image above. Position the front groups near the front of the boats, and the back six towards the back with the third archer roughly in the middle of the boats. This arrangement will deal with all the Seethe, flying and floating, that converge on the boats.

When the Hirafugai approach the front of the flotilla, use the cannons to down them before they reach the boats. The ideal time to shoot is when they first enter the red bubble that denotes where the cannon will shoot. It’s better to fire off early because of the long cooldown for each of the cannons.

When the Hirafugai move towards the back boats, which don’t have cannons, target the largest Seethe and use Pinnacle Shot to one shot them. Your archers will take care of the smaller Seethes but you can help with standard arrow shots. Once they are all dead, the Hirafugai will sink.

If the Seethe manage to land on the boat, kill them then destroy the tentacle that attaches to the boat as fast as possible. Leave it too long and the boat will rock too much and sink, failing the first optional objective.

From there, it’s a case of running between the front and back boats, using the cannons and Pinnacle Shot to kill all the Seethe before they reach the boats. If the cannons are on cooldown at the front, use the same tactic as for the back boats – target the largest Seethe to knock them off the boat then kill the smaller ones to sink the Hirafugai. Towards the end of the stage, the Hirafugai come with exploding enemies, prioritise them to trigger explosions that will kill all the Seethe onboard.

Compared to other stages, Yuminari Lake is fairly short so you don’t have to hold out for too long. There are also more than enough Hirafugai and Seethe to hit the two other objectives. You shouldn’t have any trouble ticking these two off as long as you track enemy movements on the mini-map and respond rapidly. Here’s what you’ll get in terms of rewards:

  • Don’t allow any boats to sink – Exorcism Talisman (Reduces the time it takes to purge defilement)
  • Defeat 10 Hirafugai before they reach the boats – x10 Musubi
  • Defeat 20 Seethe using Cannons – x10 Musubi
