The lands of Bohemia stretch far and wide. While you can conceivably trudge through meadows, forests, and villagers on foot, you’ll invariably want to get your hands on a horse at some point to make travelling a lot quicker. They also act as a secondary inventory, helpful when you’re lugging back tons of weapons and armor to sell off at a trader for groschen.
As with most things in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you have options when it comes to finding a stead, including the less well-regarded choice of quite simply swiping one from a field. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get a horse in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
How to steal a horse
To steal a horse, first locate one either in a field or knock the rider off and deal with them as you see fit. Approach the horse and press the button prompt to ‘mount and steal’. The horse is likely to buck if you try to gallop straight away so trot away gently and use the ‘Praise’ button prompt to gain its trust.
If you’re looking for a horse to steal, there’s a paddock in the south of Toskowitz with several horses grazing. Otherwise, you’ll find more in the field next to the horse trader in Semine in the south of the Trosky Region.
Where to find Pebbles in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
At the start of the game, Henry is riding his trusty steed Pebbles, but the attack at the Rocktower pond changes that. It turns out that you can find Pebbles again and she isn’t too far away. You’ll find Pebbles in the field behind the horse trader in Semine. You can either steal the horse (it’s rightfully yours) and deal with the criminal repercussions, or alternatively, get it off the horse trader. It’s worth brewing up some Saviour Schnapps with Belladonna and Nettles here then saving you game in case it all goes south.
To get Pebbles back, find the horse trader Groom Ballatay. He tends to hang out in the field or in the farm house to the north. Choose the ‘Pebbles!’ dialogue option and Groom explains he was sold the horse for peanuts by a young lad. If your Speech skill is up to scratch you can try asking for the horse back by using the ‘Be reasonable’ dialogue option and Groom will give you the horse for free, though he expects a favor in exchange.
If that fails, you’ll need to buy Pebbles. The initial price is 160 groschen, but you can haggle it down to get a better deal. After a short wait, Pebbles will be all yours.
