No, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is not a gacha game. From playing the main game – and from our review – we can clearly see that Relink is a complete ARPG you must pay for. It comes with unlockable characters and pieces of equipment available to you by playing the game, with no pulling or microtransactions to speak of.

There will be no gacha elements at all in Relink, as it is its own JRPG adventure. Granblue Fantasy: Relink is set in the same world as the main Granblue Fantasy game, and the anime, but Relink is a standalone adventure using characters from the series.

We have seen through various PSN listings and on Steam that Granblue Fantasy: Relink does have some DLC and preorder bonuses for various cosmetics, which could be considered microtransactions. With that said, it is unclear if new characters would be added to the game, or if there will simply be different dyes and outfits added as purchasable DLC.
