While inZOI has already been released in Early Access on Steam, that’s only the first step on the long road for the new life sim game. We can all expect to see constant updates and patches while the game is moulded into a true contender in the genre. For that to happen, Krafton will have to listen to the community’s feedback, as well as work their magic. Thankfully, the game shows a lot of promise already, so let’s see what’s next for inZOI and when can we expect the next patch.
When is the next inZOI update coming?
The next confirmed major update for inZOI is planned for May 1, 2025. It is possible that there will be a smaller patch (or a few) before that, and we will update you if that is the case. Meanwhile, the May 1 patch will be the first major update for the game, bringing with it a ton of highly-requested features, including:
- Modding: The addition of mods will bring the InZOI modding community to life, similar to the way The Sims mods have flourished over time. With Maya and Blender support, creating custom content will be easier than ever.
- Cheat codes: Players who use cheat codes can rejoice as god mode and proper money cheats are coming to the game to replace the current small offerings.
- Dynamic weight and muscle changes: Your Zois will be able to see real-time changes in their bodies by working out or visiting the gym.
- Relationship Improvements: Expect more depth and functionality in your Zoi’s relationships.
- Adoption system: Zois will be able to adopt children, adding a new layer of family life to the game.
- Build mode improvements: Enhancements to build mode will allow for a more fluid design experience.
- New furniture and outfits: More customization options will be available, allowing you to personalize your Zois’ living spaces and wardrobes.
- Create-A-Zoi improvements: Updates to this feature will make creating and customizing your Zois even more detailed.
What was in the previous inZOI patches?
Just a few days after release, inZOI received a hotfix, on Saturday, March 29. It included a few small fixes to issues that have been plaguing the early adopters, including the following:
- Fixed an issue where certain buttons would disappear after re-entering the lobby while playing the game in Simplified Chinese.
- Fixed an intermittent issue that prevented the lobby menu from functioning properly.
- Fixed an issue where some family detail settings didn’t match the values displayed in the UI.
- Fixed an issue where custom outfits or accessories would disappear after restarting the game.
Shortly after, on Sunday, March 30, another batch of hotfixes was released. This small patch added a few more fixes:
- Fixed an issue where the original creator of a Creation was incorrectly displayed in certain situations.
- Fixed an issue where the headset remained equipped when automatically changing into everyday wear after using “Give Gift”.
- Moved the [Ray Tracing Target] option to the [Advanced – Preset] menu
- Fixed a moiré issue (wavy patterns on distant grilles or glass) that occurred on hair, foliage, or screen in specific environments.
Lastly, another hotfix was released on Tuesday, April 1. A few more fixes were in order:
- Adjusted lifespan rules so that only Zois in senior age groups may now pass away naturally.
- Fixed an issue where clothing remained dirty or damaged after washing under certain conditions.
- Resolved a crash issue that could occur intermittently in certain situations.
But that’s not all. Krafton has laid out a detailed roadmap for inZOI spanning all of 2025. Meanwhile, we can expect them to pepper in a few more smaller fixes and patches between the major updates. There is plenty to look forward to – unless you’re skipping the Early Access and waiting for inZOI’s console release.
