The life sim genre is small but rife with mods and modding opportunities. The most famous example are, of course, the Sims games with their huge cabinet of mods. The newcomer on the block, inZOI, didn’t take long to develop a fledgeling modding scene, despite its recent launch in Early Access. While there’s a long way to go for the mods to develop, there’s plenty to look forward to – especially with full mod support being on the roadmap. With that, let’s take a look at the current best mods for inZOI and how to install them.

Best mods for inZOI

Fans have already started developing mods for inZOI, though most of them are technical at this stage. Still, if you head over to Nexus Mods, there are about a dozen mods to choose from. We have picked some of the best ones at this time.

inZOI Mod Enabler

Without full mod support at the moment, inZOI Mod Enabler is your main ticket to installing and using mods. It allows you to load mods through the mods folder, making it an essential framework for all other modding.

inZOI Optimizer

For us, inZOI Optimizer was the most important QoL mod. As the name suggests, it helps with the game’s optimization by helping the game compile shaders and stream assets more efficiently. This in turn reduces stuttering and alleviates some hardware pressure from your PC.

High Quality Skin and Faces

For players with strong rigs that want even more impressive visuals, the High Quality Skin and Faces mod is the answer. It’s pretty simple – all it does is restore the original hi-rez textures from the first release build, which were removed when Early Access launched.

Enhanced inZOI Visuals

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Enhanced inZOI Visuals mod helps your game run smoother by disabling extra effects. This includes vignette, chromatic aberration, some hair effects, and increases object draw distance.

Remove Shower Blur

For less modest players, Remove Shower Blur removes the censoring blur whenever it appears – mainly in the shower, toilet, and other similar situations. Not coincidentally, it’s one of the most popular mods among players, right out of the gates. In fact, it seems like it’s only paving the way for even more spicy mods down the road.

Skip Intro

Last but not least, this is a simple mod that does exactly what it says on the tin. Skip Intro lets you, well, skip the intro videos and load into the game faster. You’d be surprised how much time you save!

How to install and use inZOI mods

Currently, the main way to install mods for inZOI is to create a ‘~mod’ folder in the game’s installation path. Make sure to install the inZOI Mod Enabler first, which will let you enable other mods. Then, you’ll have to copy each mod’s .pak files into the newly created folder.

Alternatively, you can control and manage your mods by using an app, such as Vortex from Nexus Mods. That way, it will be far easier to keep track of all the mods you’ve installed or enabled for inZOI. In addition, players have developed another mod called inZOI Mod Manager that can offer you a similar function for inZOI mods – at least until mod support gets officially released in the next major update.
