Deep underneath the Sphinx not far from the Weather Station in Gizeh, Gina and Indy reach a vaulted chamber that houses a ceremonial Gold Mask. The artifact is held tight by a clasp mechanism made of solid rock. It’s your job as part of the Sanctuary of the Guardians Fieldwork to figure out the puzzle, which involves moving mirrors to reflect light in just the right place. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to solve the Gold Mask puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Gold Mask puzzle solution

To solve the Gold Mask puzzle, start by shifting the mirror that sits to the right of the stone pillar so that it shines diagonally onto the mirror at the back-right of the chamber. Next, shift the mirror to the left of the pillar so that it’s shining diagonally onto the mirror on the left at the back of the chamber. The two light beams should cross through each other not far from the mask stand.

Run over to the back of the chamber and face the pillar. Move the mirror on your left (the one near the toppled-over column) so that it reflects light onto the shield-like disc by the short stairs that lead to the Gold Mask. Go over to the mirror on the right and do the same but angle it towards the metal disc on the left by the stairs.

This will remove the clasp mechanism from the Gold Mask, allowing you to pick it up. A short cut scene will follow where Gina and Indy throw out theories about the mask. When you regain control, snap a picture of Gina wearing the mask with the camera. Gina will then sit on the throne, triggering a churning mechanism that lowers the floor into a chamber full of scorpions.

Light Gina’s torch then pull on the chain to open the door. Grab the torch in the room ahead and light it then head over to Gina and a weak wall. You’ll need something heavy to break it. To the left of the throne is a lever you can pull that opens a door to a secret room on the left. Inside, you’ll find a mace to smash the wall. Go through and follow the path, burning the obstruction as you go, and into another chamber with another mirror puzzle.

How to solve the Statue of Light mirror puzzle

To solve the Statue of Light mirror puzzle, you’ll need to redirect the light so that it shines on the metal discs on the sides of the statue. Head over to the mirror in front of the statue and shift the light to the disc above the door on the right. The door will break halfway up. Help Gina to reach the gap near the ceiling next to the door. She will then slide a Brass Mirror under the door. Go back to the mirror and reposition the light beam to the disc above the door on the left. Grab the mirror Gina retrieved then head into the room. Place the mirror on the pedestal to light up one of the metal discs on the statue.

Leave the room to learn that Gina has found another mirror. She’ll position herself near the statue to reflect the light. Go back to the mirror and move it so that it shines onto the mirror Gina is holding. This will bounce onto the second metal disc, opening up a door at the back of the chamber.

From there, the exit path is fairly obvious other than having to help Gina up to a ledge for her to shine the mirror to clear a path for Indy through a cluster of scorpions. Use the wall to shimmy across then use the whip grapple point to jump over the gap and climb the stairs. Grab the steel in the final chamber and exit the Sphinx. A cut scene will follow, wrapping up the Sanctuary of the Guardians Fieldwork and earning you an achievement of the same name along with 400 Adventure Points.
