After exploring the Hidden Pyramid during The Blessed Pearl adventure, you’ll head back to Khaimuksaksit Village for a conversation with Pailin. You’ll be interrupted by explosions off in the distance, which will take you to the Explosion Site in the very far southeast of Sukhothai to take on the A Study in Fear Fieldwork.
As you reach the end of the temple, you’ll encounter a large chamber with a demon’s head carved in stone as its centerpiece known as the Demon’s Tomb. In true Indy style, the room is a tough puzzle. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to solve the Demon’s Tomb Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
A Study in Fear Demon’s Tomb Puzzle solution
To solve the Demon’s Tomb Puzzle, you’ll need to configure all three pedestal keys correctly to allow the water to flow freely. To start, head to the back of the chamber and use your whip on the handle on the right to get the water flowing.

Annika will point out a bird’s nest up on one of the pillars which contains a key. To get it, head to the left of the pillar and cross the gap using the broken stone bridge. Take a right and whip up to the ledge above. Shimmy to the right then whip to the next hold on the ledge on the right. Climb up and hop across the gap to the platform on the right. Use the whip grapple point to swing across to the ledge on the right. Shimmy to the left then drop down and grab the Cross & Diamond Key.

Next, you’ll need to unlock the pedestals in the right order, starting with the one on the right. Using the Cross & Diamond Key, but also the Circle Key and Cross & Circle Key you picked up earlier, you’ll need to align all the symbols on the top of the pedestal. The different keys lock certain portions of the rotating disc in place: the Circle Key locks the ring with the circle symbol, the Cross & Circle Key locks the rings with a cross and circle symbol, and so on. It’s a process of elimination but shouldn’t be too hard. Unlocking the pedestal frees the water path below and removes one of the locks on the central pedestal. You’ll then need to repeat this for the two remaining pedestals to the left and the back of the central pedestal. This will remove the remaining two locks.
Head over to the central pedestal and you’ll see three key slots sided by symbols sketched in white. These represent the same symbols as the other pedestal but, more importantly, the keys, with some of them combining two symbols. Place them as follows:
- Circle Key – in the slot on the left with the two circle symbols.
- Cross & Circle Key – in the middle slot with two symbols a circle with a cross inside it.
- Cross & Diamond Key – in the slot on the right with the symbols of a cross inside of a diamond.
The pedestal will lower to reveal a lever. Pull it and the Demon’s head will rotate revealing a tomb containing the Idol of Yaksha. Head over and speak to Annika. Make your way out of the Tomb and return to Sunan to complete A Study in Fear Fieldwork.
