✓ AT A GLANCE
  • You can attempt a spin move by pressing Circle (PlayStation) or B (Xbox) while holding the left stick in the direction you want to spin
  • You can also do a precision spin move by pressing Circle or B while running (holding R2 or RT) with the ball carrier
  • Spin moves are especially useful for avoiding Aggressive, Hit Stick, or Cut Stick tackles

If you know how to spin, not even a 70-rated running back can stop you from winning a Super Bowl. Jokes aside, a good spin move should always be a part of every ball carrier’s arsenal since it can help you gain distance and separation from any oncoming defender. And, since most players tend to get overzealous with their Aggressive and Hit Stick tackling, it becomes even more important because spinning is one of the many ways you can avoid a big hit and a potential fumble.

How to spin in Madden 25

Here’s what you need to do to spin:

Regular Spin MoveBCircle
Precision Spin MoveB (while holding R2/RT)Circle (while holding R2/RT)

The difference between both types is that the precision spin move is more exaggerated than its regular version. While you can use the latter to avoid big hits, you can execute the former to put some distance between you and the defenders. However, the precision spin move animation is slightly slower than the regular, so you’ll need to alternate between the two in matches.

Now, although easy to learn, the spin move is difficult to execute, especially against players who know how to tackle effectively since you’re only given a split-second to react to a defender. For instance, against the Breakdown tackle, a spin won’t work since the opposing player will automatically wrap you up. However, they can be highly effective against Aggressive, Hit Stick, or Cut Stick tackles because defenders have already committed to a direction.

If you want to be even shiftier, you can chain the spin with other skill moves like the juke. This will make you even more difficult to predict since cutting one way and spinning into the other is enough to make any defender’s head, well, spin. But, like any old football game, this isn’t the only fundamental move you need to master. So, if you’re having trouble learning how to catch in Madden 25, we’ve got just the thing for you.
