In the competitive gaming scene, Marvel Rivals stands out thanks to its wide variety of game modes, which allow players to discover a play style that works for them. If you like tactical point capture games – then you’ll love Domination and players who enjoy escort missions will enjoy Convoy.
The goals of Domination and Convoy are combined in Convergence, making it a dynamic challenge that puts team adaptability to the test. Adding to that, a plethora of new content, doubling down on player engagement, is introduced in Season 1: Eternal Night Falls for Marvel Rivals, which launches today.
To further improve upon the game’s world and gameplay, this season adds new locations, heroes like Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic, and a major visual overhaul. Doom Match, an arcade-style free-for-all featuring 8–12 players competing in the expansive new map Empire of Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum, is one of the thrilling new modes. Here’s how to play it
How to launch Doom Match in Marvel Rivals Season 1
Doom Match is the new Arcade game mode that can be launched by heading over to the Select Mode menu under Marvel Rivals game modes. Once you’re there, under the Rivalry tab, you’ll see Doom Match right below Conquest, which was the inaugural Arcade mode in the game.
Once you launch it, you’ll load as a solo player in a public lobby with 8-12 more players. So if you’re looking for an experience that is best played without relying on a team-based composition, then this is the mode for you.
Marvel Rivals Doom Match game mode structure and rules
Doom Match is an arcade-based game mode in Marvel Rivals Season 1 which has a maximum cap of 12 players in a single lobby. There are no restrictions on heroes you can choose as you have unlimited respawns throughout the mode.
Furthermore, the Respawn Points are randomized each time you’re eliminated since the map Sanctum Sanctorum continues to open portals to different areas around the map where you can travel. To win, you need to defeat enemies to earn points. The goal for each player is to be one of the top 50% of players to reach 16 eliminations before anyone else to win the match.
The best way to get there faster is to play with a character you’re most familiar with since you need to rack up on eliminations quicker than any other players. Jump between portals to make a quick escape from a sticky situation and continue to head to healing spawners to grab a quick heal.
However, do note that Doctor Strange’s Pentagram of Farallah (F ability) and Invisible Woman’s Invisible Boundary (Q Ult ability) are not available in this game mode.
