Marking enemies is a feature in Once Human that allows players to highlight targets and, in the process, benefit from some useful buffs. It’s useful as a recon tool before diving into settlements full of enemies and monsters. For example, there’s the Recover mark mod, which grants huge stamina and HP restoration gains when used. Here is everything you need to know about enemy marks in Once Human.
Marked enemies explained in Once Human
To mark enemies, players need to run a weapon with the Bull’s Eye feature. When you use the Bullseye, hitting a weak spot on an enemy gives you a chance to mark targets, making them vulnerable. Vulnerable targets take increased damage from your attacks. You’ll find the Bull’s Eye on the following weapons:
Weapon | How to get |
---|---|
Recurve Crossbow Frag | Evergreen mystical crate (Red Sands) |
AWS. 338 – Bingo | 8000 Starchrom at the Wish Machine |
Old Huntsman | Blue, blueprint unlocked via the Echo From the Rift Wish Machine level. Easy to acquire and fairly cheap on Starchrom. |
DE.50 Wildfire | 2000 Starchrom from the Wish Machine. |
Note that you can get these weapons, such as the AWS. 338 Bingo, as a random drop from late-game weapon crates, rather than buying it with Starchrom from the Wish Machine. Some Deviant descriptions, like the mini feaster, also claim to mark enemies.
Ideally, you want to mark targets if you’re running a highly precise build. Snipers and the crossbow are both great choices as you can easily scope in and note a creature’s weak spot. That way the Bull’s Eye effect marks targets and you can get increased damage to a target. Feel free to sync it up with some late-game armour mods that award Bull’s Eye bonuses to get even more out of your weak spot-focused builds.
If you’re going to use this feature, you can also use the Recover Mark. This makes it a great mod for foregoing the Festering Gel deviant as you no longer need the health recovery it offers. Instead, you can take another combat deviant to further synergize your playstyle, such as Mr. Wish.
Mr Wish when activated marks enemies with the Bull’s Eye effect. It’s an easy way to get the buff on a group of enemies, ready for the bonus damage to begin immediately. Consider pairing this with the Fortress weapon perk to get an even higher damage buff stacked with your Bull’s Eye weapon.
