TNT is a dangerous block in Minecraft that can blow up your entire base within a second. It’s a favorite block of Grian and we can see a consequence of using TNT blocks in an uncontrollable way! In today’s article, we’ll show you how to make TNT in Minecraft!
Three steps to Make TNT in Minecraft
#1 Collect 5 Gunpowder
Gunpowder is the main drop from 3 hostile mobs: creepers, ghasts, and witches. Creepers can be found anywhere in the overworld and drop 0-2 gunpowder on death. Ghasts are the awful creature that spawns in the Nether dimension and also drops the same amount of gunpowder as creepers on death. While witches can drop up to 6 gunpowder on death. And those amounts can be increased with the Looting III enchantment.
The best way to get gunpowder in a large quantity is to make a creeper farm. Although it’s really hard in the beginning, the result really pays off! Besides making a farm, you can go exploring the dungeons, desert temples, woodland mansions, or shipwrecks. They contain multiple chests with 1 to 8 gunpowder per chest.
Additionally, you can trade 1 emerald with the wandering trader for 1 gunpowder. This method is really expensive and hard to achieve.
#2 Collect 4 Sand/Red Sand
Sang is a common renewable block in Minecraft that can be found pretty much anywhere in the overworld. Besides the desert biome, which contains millions of sand blocks, you can also find sand in rivers, beaches, and at the bottom of any ocean biomes.
Red sand is another variant of sand, which can only be found in the badlands biomes. Just like the desert, you can get a lot of red sand in those biomes!
You can get more sand or red sand by trading 1 emerald with the correct wandering traders. They have a chance to sell either 8 sand or 4 red sand blocks.
#3 Craft TNT
Crafting TNT in Minecraft requires a crafting table since you will need all 9 blocks. When you have one, right-click on it and put 5 gunpowder in an X shape, then fill the remaining slots with sand or red sand to craft 1 TNT block.
As you can see, TNT is quite expensive, especially when it comes to gunpowder. So use it wisely and carefully!
