Four steps to Make a Campfire in Minecraft

#1 Collect 3 Sticks

Sticks can be crafted easily from any 2 wood planks or 2 bamboos. But the best way to get sticks in Minecraft is to chop down trees and craft planks from them.

There are many other ways to get sticks in Minecraft such as fishing, killing witches, breaking leaves and dead bushes, or looting villagers’ chests. Of the 4, hunting for witches and breaking leaves is the second best method to get sticks.

#2 Obtain 1 Coal/Charcoal

You can get coal by mining coal ores in the mountains or under caves. With a non-Silk Touch pickaxe, the coal ores will drop coal directly. If getting mined with a Silk Touch pickaxe, it will drop coal or deepslate coal ore block instead. Putting them in a furnace to smelt for coal is another option.

Most generated structures in Minecraft can have a pretty high chance to contain from 1 and up to 15 coal per chest. Killing wither skeletons and crafting from blocks of coal are other ways to get coal in Minecraft. But keep in mind that the wither skeletons are super dangerous!

If you can’t find coal, try smelting any wood or logs in the furnace to get charcoal instead.

#3 Collect 3 Log/Wood/Stripped Log/Stripped Wood

From 9 wood types (oak, birch, spruce, jungle, dark oak, acacia, mangrove, crimson, and warped) in the game and their 4 variants (log, wood, stripped log, and stripped wood), you can collect any 3 blocks of the same type to craft a campfire.

You can get logs by chopping down trees. For stripped logs, just use an axe and right-click on the log.

For wood, you can craft it by putting 4 logs in a 2×2 shape. And stripped wood can be obtained with the same process as logs.

#4 Craft a Campfire

When you have 3 sticks, 3 wood-related blocks, and either 1 coal or charcoal, right-click on the crafting table and follow the recipe below to craft 1 campfire.

Alternatively, you can find campfires spawning naturally in the taiga villages and the ancient cities. In addition, fishermen villagers can have a high chance to sell a campfire for 2-5 emeralds.
