- You can juke by flicking the right stick to the left, right, or down with the ball carrier.
- You can perform a double juke by successively flicking the right stick in two directions (right to left / left to right).
- The effectiveness of a player’s juke depends on their juke move rating.
The easiest way to break a defender’s ankles on your way to a touchdown is by mastering how to juke in Madden 25. Arguably the most effective of all the skill moves, the juke is a simple yet graceful move that can make even the best edge rushers or defensive backs look silly. So, if you want to drop every opposing player attempting to bring you down, keep reading on to learn more about the art of juking in EA’s latest American football release.
How to juke
There are three ways you can juke in the game:
Juke Type | PlayStation | Xbox |
---|---|---|
Juke Left | Flick right stick left | Flick right stick left |
Juke Right | Flick right stick to the right | Flick right stick to the right |
Juke Backwards (Hesitation) | Flick right stick downward | Flick right stick downward |
Juking is particularly useful in online H2H matches since opposing players tend to overuse Aggressive and Hit Stick tackles. A simple juke to the left or right can be enough to make a downhill defensive back or linebacker miss, while a hesitation juke is handy in helping you get rid of defenders on your hip. You can also chain juke moves together by flicking the right stick in one direction and then another. Or, if you’ve already learned how to spin, you can mix both skill moves together.
You’ll also need to keep in mind that the effectiveness of a player’s juke depends on their juke move rating. For instance, since Tyreek Hill has the highest juke move rating in the game at 98, you’ll have an easier time making defenders miss with him than Justin Jefferson (93-rated JKM).
Now, even though the juke is one of the most potent skill moves in evading oncoming defenders, it won’t work in every scenario. If the player you’re facing knows how to tackle effectively, a juke will be rendered useless no matter which way you go. Juking also requires a certain amount of timing and precision because otherwise, even the most low-rated defender can take you down. Now that you have it in your arsenal, though, all it takes to master it is a bit of practice, and you can start terrorizing opponent teams with it.
