If you’re wondering how to invite friends in Dead Island 2, we’re going to show you how to do just that.
After wallowing around in development for nearly ten years, the game is actually here. Anybody interested in the game is surely thinking about how they can get online with their friends, so if you’re wanting to play co-op, here’s what you’ve got to do.
Dead Island 2 – how to invite friends
Before you can start inviting friends for multiplayer in Dead Island 2, you’ve got to first unlock co-op multiplayer. This can be done by levelling up through the game fairly normally and completing the Call the Cavalry mission.
After you have unlocked co-op / multiplayer, you’re going to need to follow the following instructions:
- Main Menu
- Select Join Game
- alternatively, you can Accept an Invite
After you have this, you can then join your friends or accept their invites.
There’s a few options you’re going to be able to tinker with in the Online Settings. You’re going to be able to set your Game Type to a few different options. Here they are:
- Single Player
- Public
- Invite Only
- Friends Only
If you’re struggling to invite friends, or see friends to invite, you’re going to need to set your visibility to Public, Invite Only, or Friends Only, as Single Player (the default) doesn’t allow for this.
How many friends can you invite in Dead Island 2?
If you’re wondering how many of your friends are going to be able to join your game session – you’ll be pleased to know you can invite up to two different friends to join your co-op.
Game sizes are capped at three, so you only invite two friends. To add to that, you’re not going to be able to invite friends who are behind you in the game, as they need to be at an equal stage or later than you to join.
