However, amid the plethora of Marksman Rifles, the Rail Gun has emerged as a clear favourite. The Rail Gun, which debuted in Chapter 2 Season 7, was praised for its unique mechanics as it could charge rounds for extra damage, and its red beam could pierce through builds, providing a tactical advantage. The weapon has once again returned in Chapter 6 Season 1 and can be found across the island. Here’s how to get it in the game.
Where to find Rail Gun in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1
The Rail Gun can be found in loot chests, supply drops, and even rare chests found across the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 island. Since the gun isn’t a special weapon like the Typhoon Blade, it’s highly likely you’ll be able to find one easily from a chest at popular POIs like Seaport City, Demon’s Dojo, Masked Meadows, Brutal Boxcars, and so on.
However, one of the best methods to get the weapon is to land on the Shogun’s Rift Island when it spawns and open any chest lying around there. You’ll get a guaranteed Rail Gun there as you’ll need some heavy firepower to defeat the Shogun X boss.
Once you have the gun, simply hold your fire button to charge your beam and release it to fire it at an enemy. The more charge you give to your beam, the harder damage it will inflict on your enemies. So it’s best to aim well with the weapon as it is one of the best hitscan guns in the current season.
Fortnite Rail Gun weapon stats and rarities in Chapter 6
The Rail Gun is available in two rarities in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1: Epic and Legendary. The Epic version is obtainable more commonly via loot chests and containers, however, the Legendary rarity can only be obtained through sheer luck by opening loot chests or after defeating the Shogun X boss on Rift Island. For those unaware, the Rail Gun uses heavy bullets and has a headshot multiplier of 2x, meaning you can deal up to 180 damage with an Epic rarity and 190 damage with a Legendary rarity Rail Gun to enemies. It is also able to destroy 2 structures in one blast, making it good against enemies gaining cover.
