Winter has arrived in Fortnite and Winterfest 2024 kicks off the annual holiday celebrations on the Battle Royale island for players who have been waiting for the new update. The Christmas update this year has covered the new Chapter 6 Season 1 island with snow and has added holiday decorations all around the map.
Furthermore, new themed cosmetics, quests, free presents, and new NPCs have also been added to the map. Along with those, new gameplay items have arrived in Fortnite and one of those turns your feet icy to help you move faster and slide across the island. Here’s how to do it.
How to get and use Icy Feet item in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1
To get Icy Feet in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, you’ll need to get your hands on the new Icy Feet item which can be claimed from loot chests and Holiday Presents on the island. The item looks like a block of Ice and works similarly to the Typhoon Blade item as it helps you to traverse across the map faster.
Once you spot the item, equip it in your inventory and press the shoot button to activate it. As you press it, your feet will turn icy and you’ll slide and move faster, even in water. You can turn off Icy Feet by pressing the shoot button once more which deactivates the effect.
However, keep a watch on the item’s durability, similar to the Typhoon Blade as it depletes and melts over time. Once the durability goes down to zero, the item will automatically disappear from your inventory and you won’t be able to use it again.
Icy Feet are most useful when going downhill or sliding across roads or water as it helps you prevent fall damage and make a quick escape from a sweaty situation during the heat of battle.
