For a game that isn’t even out yet, it’s fair to say there’s plenty of buzz around HyperBox. Only playable in demo form, this physics-based shooter has a lot of hilarious ragdoll elements along with very gory visuals. If you want to download and play HyperBox, all you’ll need is a PC and a Discord account, so let’s get into how to install it.
How to download HyperBox
First, you need to head to the game’s official Discord Server and join up. If you haven’t already done so, you need to make a Discord account. You can find the server by following this link to a post on Reddit by one of the devs. Here are the steps you’ll need to take:
- Join the Discord Server.
- Verify your account.
- Go to the DEMO server and click on demo-builds channel.
- Download the game by clicking on the three .rar files in the channel.
- Unpack the .rar files together and you’ll get the game files.
- Run the game by launching ALS_EU.
Join the Discord server
Once you’re in the Discord server, you’ll need to verify your account. This is done by clicking on a green button that says ‘Verify’. You won’t be able to access all the server’s channels until you do this step, so make sure you do it. To have your Discord account verified, it will open a link to a web page. Just let it load and do its thing. If it doesn’t work for you, you will need a Discord account that is older than six days.
Download the game
Once your account has been verified, you’ll notice you can access all the channels in the server for HyperBox. Under the Demos tag, click on the channel called demo-build. Here, you’ll be able to download a demo build of the game for free. If you want to, you can spend $4 to become a Supporter of HyperBox and you’ll get access to the Support build of the game, which is a more updated version than the free demo.
- Download all three files in the channel, called HyperBoxpart1.rar, HyperBoxpart2.rar, and HyperBoxpart3.rar.
- Once you download them, place them in a folder called HyperBox on your desktop.
- Put the three downloads in the HyperBox folder you just made and extract them. The password is HailHydra.
- Once the files have been extracted, open the new folder that has been created and launch the game by clicking on ALS_EU.
If you want more detailed instructions, there is a video on the Discord channel that shows this process. If you choose to pay the devs and become a Supporter, you’ll need a Key to play the Support build of the game. The demo version doesn’t need this, and you can just play it immediately.
How to get a key for HyperBox
Once you’ve become a Supporter in the HyperBox Discord, you’ll see a message that tells you to send a DM to the authentication bot, which will then generate a unique Key for you to play the Supporter build. To do this, message @HyperrBox Auth the following phrase: .genkey. You will automatically get a key and you then need to add the generated key to the blank Key.txt tile in the game directory where you installed it.
