Follow these steps to add friends in Valorant:
- Expand the social bar on the right side of the screen.
- Click the Add Friend button (person with plus icon) located at the bottom-right.
- Enter your friend’s Riot ID and Tagline into the text boxes
- Press the + button to add them.
Valorant, much like any other multiplayer FPS title, requires players to team up with other individuals in order to defeat the opposing group. However, you’re also able to create a party with friends. To do that, you’ll first need to populate your friend list with some friends. Once you’ve added friends to your list, it will be easy to form a party and play as a stack in both casual and competitive play. Here’s everything you need to do.
How to add a friend in Valorant
There are two ways you can add friends in Valorant. You can use either their:
- Riot ID
- Tagline
Once you’ve decided what one to go for, to add friends please follow these steps:
- First launch the game and head to the home screen.
- Once there, highlight the sidebar on the right and expand it by clicking on it.
- Next, navigate to the bottom portion of the sidebar and select the icon with a plus sign on it. You can see where to click by looking at the image we have taken below.
- Finally, simply enter your friend’s Riot ID and Tagline and click the plus button beside the fields to add them.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to enter your friend’s username separately on the Riot ID field. You will then have to input the string of numbers next to their username on the Tagline field.
If you want your friend to add you instead but are having trouble locating the necessary information, simply expand the right-hand sidebar again and click on your username found at the upper portion of it. This will display a small window that shows your in-game name next to a string of numbers or letters representing your tagline, along with your current rank.
Input errors are usually the most common thing to go wrong with simple tasks like this, so always triple check you that have the right details and you’re not getting a friend’s Riot ID confused with a Tagline.
After you’ve added a friend to your friends list, you’ll be able to create a party with them before searching for a game. You can invite them from the same sidebar, or alternatively, ask to join their party. If you’re new to Valorant, you’re going to want to check out the Valorant Night Market.
