Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2’s immersive binaural audio design, haunting story, and stunning photo-realistic visuals are sided by well-honed vocal work from its voice actors. Their performances are integral to bringing Senua’s haunting character study to life, even more so given the sonic heavy-lifting done to prop up its brave themes.

Below, you find a complete list of the main cast along with where you might have heard their voices before. There are few returning voices from the first Hellblade along with a few fresh additions, mainly for the new companions that accompany Senua on her journey through 10th century Iceland.

Senua – Melina Juergens

Having earned several awards including BAFTA for her performance in the series’ first game, Melina Juergens reprises the role of Senua in Hellblade 2. As surprising as it is impressive, Juergens voice work starts and ends with the two Hellblade games.

Fargrímr – Gudmundur Thorvaldsson

A chance encounter that turns into a crucial companion to Senua, Fargrímr is played by Gudmundur Thorvaldsson. The actor is known for roles both in games and on screen. Among their most memorable performances are the role of Sigurd in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Netflix’s The Witcher.

Thórgestr – Chris O’Reilly

Chris O’Reilly plays Thórgestr, the vicious slaver who undergoes a major transformation in Hellblade 2, accompanying Senua’s on her quest to fell giants. Though predominantly a stuntman for films like Rise of the Footsoldier 3 and The Rebels, O’Reilly has also been involved in 2022’s The Quarry on the video game front.

Ástríðr – Aldís Amah Hamilton

The tough and resilient Ástríðr is voiced by Aldis Amah Hamilton, a German actress whose portfolio includes work in Netflix’s Katla and The Valhalla Murders. She’s also starred in several Icelandic language series and films.

The Furies – Helen Goalen and Abbi Greenland

The incessant voices both goading and encouraging Senua known as The Furies are voiced by Helen Goalen and Abbi Greenland. Other than credits in both Hellblade games, the duo have no other voice work to their name but are the minds behind the theatre group RashDash, known for putting on bold performances in the UK theatre circuit.

Zynbel – Steven Hartley

Though Zynbel, or the Shadow, is a physical character in Hellblade 2, they play a vital role in depicting Senua’s mental state. Much like in the original game, Steven Hartley is responsible for bringing the character to life. The English actor has an enviable credit list, including UK TV mainstays like Holby City, The Bill, and Eastenders, Sky’s excellent Brassic, and films like Allies and The Walker.

Goði – Clive Wood

Clive Wood takes on the role of Hellblade 2’s main villain, Goði, a slaver and father to Thórgestr. Wood work in video games extends to Sea of Thieves, Company of Heroes 2, and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III. But, Wood’s real home is on the boards and on-screen, with appearances in The Bill, Antony and Cleopatra, Suffragette, and Buster.

Narrator – Chipo Chung

The Narrator is voiced by Chipo Chung, a Zimbabwean actress who makes her first video game appearance in Ninja Theory’s sequel. She’s most known for TV and film appearances. Her major credits include Silo, His Dark Materials, In the Loop, and Black Cake.

The Hiddenfolk – Norah Lopez Holden and Matt Mordak

Norah Lopez Holden and Matt Mordak lend their voices to bring to life the mysterious Hiddenfolk Senua is tasked with hunting down in her efforts to take down Illtauga. Holden’s work includes voice work in Foamstars and Hitman 2, while Mordak is a newcomer to the voice acting scene, though their performance shows no hints that this is their first appearance.
