Is Sanctuary Grove beckoning, but you aren’t sure how to get there in the new God of War Ragnarok? We’ve been there, and it seems like there’s no way to return to Freya’s home in the grove after visiting during the story. We’re here to help with a guide to how to get to Sanctuary Grove in God of War Ragnarok.
How to Get to Sanctuary Grove in God of War Ragnarok
To reach Sanctuary Grove, you’ll need to have wrapped the main story, including the Realms at War quest, and all that that entails. After reaching the post-game Epilogue, you won’t immediately be able to reach the grove, and there are a few steps before a new undiscovered gateway unlocks to allow you to travel to Sanctuary Grove.
After finishing the story, travel to Sindri’s House at the World Tree between the realms and talk to Ratatoskr, the well-spoken squirrel perched on the branch to the left of the house. You may need to throw Krato’s axe at the bell to summon Ratatoskr.
Ratatoskr will give Kratos a pouch of Yggdrasil seeds that unlock mystic gateways throughout the realms, including Sanctuary Grove in Midgard. From here, it’s simply a case of visiting any mystic gateway to fast travel, navigating to the Midgard seed, then selecting the Sanctuary Grove mystic gateway.
Ratatoskr’s Yggdrasil seeds also unlock gateways in Muspelheim, Niflheim, and Jotunheim.
Sanctuary Grove Undiscovered marker location
The grove area is relatively small but includes a collectible (marked as Undiscovered) needed to 100% Midgard along with some dialogue and lore. The collectible is the Mirkweed flower, which is required to complete the Nine Realms in Bloom Favor. This is likely one of the last remaining collectibles you’ll pick up.
To reach the Mirkweed, follow the path to Freya’s house and the Sanctuary Grove from the mystic gateway. With Chaurli, the giant turtle facing you, head to the left (east of Chaurli) to find the flower on the ground. An interact prompt will pop up when Kratos is close.
