This is because primogem is the most important currency used to purchase Intertwined and Acquiant fates so you can pull for characters in the limited and standard banners. However, the issue comes with the fact that primogems only come in small amounts, but luckily there are a plethora of ways to acquire them. 

So, in this guide, we’ve compiled a list of ways to get primogems to help you get your next 5s character. 

How to get Primogems in Genshin Impact?

Daily Commissions

Daily Commission is a system you will unlock as you step into the world of Teyvat. It assigns you to four short daily quests involving battles, puzzles and talking to NPCs. Each quest grants 10 primogems, and another 20 primogems after talking to Katheryne from the Adventurer’s guild. 

Events

Simply head to the Events tab in the Paimon Menu to gain access to the limited-time activities that give rewards such as Hero’s Wits, Mora, Crown, EXP and Primogems. Most events are temporary, so be sure to take note of the duration so as not to miss these bountiful rewards.  

Spiral Abyss 

Equip your characters with the most potent weapons and artifacts before hopping into the Spiral Abyss. Spiral Abyss is a special domain having twelve floors with three chambers.

Strategize and get ready to face the most menacing monsters inside it. Clear the Abyss Corridors to receive 2400 primogems, while Abyssal Moon Spire, on the other hand resets every 1st and 16th of the month, granting at most 600 only if you successfully manage to get 36 stars. 

 Exploration

Rest assured that all of your efforts will be rewarded. As you traverse the region of Teyvat, you will come across waypoints, chests, puzzles, and more. Interact with it to get primogems. 

Mail Rewards and Compensations

Make sure to regularly check your mail before the mail rewards expire. Mail Rewards include primogems, mora, hero’s wits and other gifts from several sources. It can come from redemption codes, maintenance and bug fix compensation, survey and more. 

Quests

Finishing quests and storylines bestows an ample amount of primogems, mora and other materials.  Navigate through the Quests tab and look for the quests that are available for you. 

Achievements

Earn primogems by collecting achievements all throughout your adventure in Teyvat. Slaying a world boss, collecting specialties, and even dying from a small boar count as achievements.
