Fortnite live events are so popular that they always draw millions of players. Most of these happen happen only once, so you need to get in the game to witness them. If you’re a veteran player, you probably already know what you need to do before the event. Still, it doesn’t hurt to read these tips in case you forgot how live events work. This guide is especially useful for new Fortnite players, and we’ll explain everything they need to know.
How to attend a Fortnite live event and where to watch it
You need to get online before the event starts
The next Fortnite live event begins on Friday at 6:30 PM Eastern Time. However, if you try to get on at this time, you will most likely miss the event. You need to keep in mind that live events in Fortnite have millions of players, which is why you need to get online at least 30 minutes before to reserve a spot. Many players will get online to attend the event, which is why it’s essential to reserve a spot before servers are overloaded. If you have extra time, get in the game at least an hour before.
To attend the event, you will join a special game mode
Epic Games will most likely release a new game mode (playlist) 30 minutes before the event starts. The playlist has an event name, and you’ll have to join it to attend the event. Once you get in the lobby, there isn’t anything else you should do. You can simply be away from your gaming system, but make sure to get back by the time the countdown hits zero. This is the same countdown you can see in a Fortnite lobby and it marks the beginning of the event.
You can watch the Fortnite live event with your squad
If you are like me and don’t like playing Fortnite alone, you can queue up for the live event with your squad. The new playlist supports up to four players per team, so feel free to invite your friends and witness the big event together.
All game modes made by Epic Games will be disabled shortly before the event starts, usually two hours before. Due to this, you won’t be able to play the regular Squads mode with your teammates. Furthermore, custom matchmaking will also be disabled.
Don’t forget about cloud gaming services
In case you can’t be home to attend The Big Bang event in Fortnite, you can always use cloud gaming services. Fortnite is available on Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna. The best thing? You can attend the live event from your mobile device! Cloud gaming services allow you to play Fortnite wherever you are. On top of that, these services are available on a variety of devices, including iOS and Android phones.
