It’s time for another Winterfest event in Fortnite! With the release of the event on Thursday, we can now unlock many cosmetic items for free. Once again, Epic Games has also released two free skins that will be available for a limited time.
This year’s event brings Winterfest Bushranger and Holiday Boxy. Both of these skins can be unlocked for free but only for a limited time. Considering that Winterfest usually lasts for two or three weeks, we expect these items to be available until early January 2024.

How to get Holiday Boxy for free in Fortnite
Winterfest 2023 brings many new rewards you can get for free but with a catch. Instead of visiting a cabin, you can now obtain these rewards by simply playing the game. The Winterfest cabin has been removed, and you no longer need to visit it to unwrap gifts.
To unlock Holiday Boxy for free, you simply need to play Fortnite for a few days during the Winterfest event. While the event has 14 rewards in total, you won’t be able to obtain all of them right away. Instead, you can get one gift every day, and free skins are not available on day one.
To open gifts, you need to open the Quest log in Fortnite and go to Daily Gifts. You can open a gift every day starting at 9 AM Eastern Time, and Holiday Boxy is available starting Saturday, December 16. If you are unable to open a gift, play a match or queue up for it, then it should be available.
You can obtain free Fortnite cosmetics on multiple accounts
If you have multiple Fortnite accounts, make sure to play the game with all of them during the Winterfest event. Doing this, you will be able to unlock exclusive items for free, including free skins.
Holiday Boxy will be available throughout the Winterfest 2023 event. However, once the skin leaves the game, it may never return. Winterfest skins seem to be exclusive, as none of them have been released to the Fortnite Item Shop yet.

When will the Winterfest 2023 event end?
Winterfest 2023 will end on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. However, this date is subject to change. Considering that the event ends on Tuesday, Epic Games will likely release a major update on this day.
Can I buy Holiday Boxy from the Item Shop?
Unfortunately, Holiday Boxy is not available in the Item Shop. The free Fortnite skin is only available as a gift during Winterfest 2023. While the skin may come to the shop at some point, you shouldn’t count on it.
How many free skins are available during the Winterfest 2023 event?
You can unlock two skins for free during Winterfest 2023 in Fortnite. Besides Holiday Boxy, you can add Winterfest Bushranger to your locker.
Why can’t I open Winterfest gifts?
