After a summer break, Epic Games finally released another Fortnite update. The v36.20 patch went live on Tuesday morning, bringing lots of new content to the game. Besides gameplay changes, bug fixes, and tweaks, the Fortnite developer added numerous cosmetics with the update, including a free pickaxe.
This guide will explain how to unlock the new Fortnite pickaxe for free. While the process is easy and simple, it’s important to note that the item will only be free for a limited time. Fortunately, it will last two weeks, giving you more than enough time to add it to your Locker.
How to get the new pickaxe for free in Fortnite
The new pickaxe is inspired by Blitz Royale, Fortnite’s most popular game mode. Epic Games released the mode in June, intending for it to be available until July 15. However, it has become very popular, attracting millions of daily players, which is why the developer decided to extend it until the first week of Chapter 6 – Season 4.
To get the free pickaxe, all you need to do is log in to Fortnite. Once you do this, the pickaxe will be automatically added to your Locker. However, keep in mind that you have to log in between July 15 and July 29 to get the pickaxe for free. If you are unable to get to your gaming system, you can log in using free cloud gaming services.
