How to get a Lightsaber in Fortnite

To get your hands on Darth Vader’s Lightsaber, all you have to do is kill the main man himself. We say ‘all you have to do’, but it’s not exactly that simple as he’s surrounded by Stormtroopers and can deal some pretty high damage himself if you get hit by him.

We recommend taking out his Stormtroopers from afar to make sure it’s just a 1v1 between you and Vader. From here, just take him out as you would with any other Fortnite boss, dodging his attacks and getting some hits in between them. Once he’s down, he’ll drop Darth Vader’s Lightsaber and you can get right back to mercilessly killing other players.

Keep a lookout for any other nearby Star Wars items, like the Stormtroopers’ blasters or the Wookie Bowcaster.

Where is Darth Vader in Fortnite?

The only location that Darth Vader spawns in is on this island at the very north of the Fortnite map. It’s fairly easy to spot where he is, however, as you’ll be able to see a bright red glow emanating from his ship, so keep an eye out for that from the Battle Bus and simply head over there.

How to use Lightsabers in Fortnite

To nobody’s surprise, Darth Vader’s Lightsaber is an excellent melee weapon, dealing pretty sizeable damage to anyone unfortunate enough to be next to you. But that’s not its best feature, as you’re also able to block a certain amount of incoming damage. Be aware that once you reach this threshold, you won’t be able to block for a few minutes so use it sparingly!

One massive upgrade that Darth Vader’s Lightsaber has over the regular ones is that it also has a ranged attack. If an opponent is at a distance, you can throw your Lightsaber at them and it will boomerang back towards you, making it much more versatile. We’d still recommend having a gun in your back pocket just in case, as it’s a bit more consistent.
