Epic Games just confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 5 will begin on December 2, 2023. Considering this is going to be a massive update, it’s no surprise that the development team pushed it for Saturday By doing this, more players will be able to attend the launch of a new Fortnite season.
The exact start date of Chapter 5 was revealed on the official blog of Epic Games. Surprisingly, the fifth chapter of Fortnite will arrive earlier than usual. Most updates come around 4 AM Eastern Time, but this one will begin late at night. With a live event coming shortly before the season, we also expect a longer Fortnite downtime.
The update may be delayed
Epic Games has only revealed when the Chapter 5 – Season 1 downtime will start. While the update usually comes right after the downtime, it may be delayed. Furthermore, it’s unclear when the server downtime will end, which is why the new season might not be available until morning ET.

Fortnite players from the United Kingdom will get Chapter 5 on Sunday. The new update will come out at 4:30 AM, which is much earlier than usual.
