How to unlock Andromeda skin for free in Fortnite

Epic Games is no stranger to giving away free items in their games, but with many of them being tied to promotions with other companies, there are often some strange or finickety little requirements to unlock them – and the Andromeda skin, while available for free, is no exception.

So if you’re desperate to get your hands on this incredible-looking skin in Fortnite, it’s not too late! The period you can obtain this skin has been lengthened, so if you missed out on it initially, here’s how you can still get the Andromeda skin for free in Fortnite.

How to get Andromeda skin for free

The Andromeda skin comes as part of the Space-Touched Serenity Set, which also includes the Starforged Blades Back Bling and Pickaxe, and the Galactic Turquoise Wrap. To be eligible for this, players must have played Fortnite on a Samsung phone or tablet between December 3, 2022 and August 16, 2024. 

If you have done that, you’ll need to play Fortnite on a Samsung phone or tablet one more time between August 16 and September 15, 2024. If you’ve fulfilled both of these criteria, then you’ll unlock the Andromeda skin and receive it by September 22, 2024 at the latest. Be aware that you must have completed BOTH of these criteria. If you did not play Fortnite on a Samsung device before August 16, even if you exclusively played on a Samsung device between now and September 15, you will not receive the Andromeda skin. Conversely, if you played on a Samsung device before August 16, and don’t do it again before September 15, you’ll also not receive the skin – you must do both.

This is a frustrating way to do it, both for players that missed one of the deadlines or for players that simply do not have access to a Samsung device. Luckily, there are still a few other free skins available right now, so even if you can’t get this one, you’re not completely out of luck.
