The Final Fantasy 16 day one patch has recently been confirmed. When the game launches, what can you expect to be included?

Final Fantasy 16’s demo recently launched, and since then the spotlight has been on the latest Square Enix game. Now, we’re not long away from the launch, and a few little issues with the play test seem likely to be fixed.

Despite previously stating that there wouldn’t be a day one patch for Final Fantasy 16, a developer livestream confirmed that there would be “minor” updates flashed for the game. However, “these won’t be required to play the game” upon launch as they aren’t crucial.

Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida went ahead and suggested what changes could be included.

What changes will the Final Fantasy 16 day one patch bring?

Yoshida suggested that there would be slight performance optimisations, issues with the game closing unexpectedly, minor text errors and a control flag issue.

These optimisations are not needed to play the full game when it launches, however, it’s also confirmed to be a ‘rapid patch,’ which means that it’s not gong to be a huge download.

In the developer live-stream, Yoshida was asked about framerate issues, and he mentioned that updates were going to be coming in the future to address this.

Alongside framerate optimisations, the producer also mentioned that they were looking into setting up an option to disable motion blur, which has been an issue for some playing the initial demo.
