As you explore the Lands Between, the map of Elden Ring will slowly reveal itself the more progress you make. As you go through each area, you will need items called Map Fragments to show the map of the area in more detail. There are 19 Map Fragments locations in Elden Ring, all of which can be found in the world and they are always found near the same-looking monument, known as Steles.

All Elden Ring Map Fragments locations

There are 19 Map Fragments to collect in Elden Ring. Six of these maps are found in underground areas while the rest are all above ground. The Elden Ring map fragment locations are dotted about, so you’ll have your work cut out for you.

Every piece of the map can be found next to a large stone structure, letting you easily identify where a fragment is. Better yet, when you have yet to pick up a map, you can find the location by looking for a small icon, shown and circled in the image below.

Limgrave, East and West Map Fragment

Limgrave West is typically the first Map Fragment you will come across in Elden Ring. It is located slightly next to the Gatefront Ruins, directly to the west of the Agheel Lake North Site of Grace. From the First Steps, following the path north towards Stormviel Castle will lead you to this Map Fragment.

The Limgrave East Map Fragment location is found in the forested area on the eastern side of Limgrave. You can reach this section by travelling across the bridge from Agheel Lake North and heading to where the Minor Erdtree is located. The Map Fragment is on the main road through the woods, just watch out for bears.

Weeping Penninsula Map Fragment

You can reach the Weeping Peninsula by crossing the Bridge of Sacrifice, which is found heading south out of Limgrave. Simply follow the path along the road until you see a castle in front of you. There will be enemies shooting at you from there, so you must be careful. The Weeping Peninsula Map Fragment is only a stone’s throw from the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace, along the main road.

Liurnia West, East, and North Map Fragment

There are three Map Fragments in Liurnia, all of which are fairly spread out. As you leave Stormviel Castle and Limgrave, you will typically find the Liurnia, East fragment first. Head to the Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace and follow the path slightly to the right, you should happen upon it.

The Liurnia, North Map Fragment is close to the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace, which is on the main path into the Raya Lucaria legacy dungeon.

The Liurnia, West Map Fragment is located northwest of Raya Lucaria and on the road to the Kingsrealm Ruins. Right before this location, there is a Site of Grace called the Northern Liurnia Lake Shore, and you will find the Map Fragment just up the road before entering the Kingsrealm Ruins.

Caelid and Dragonbarrow Map Fragment

You can enter Caelid by travelling east of Limgrave. There is one main road that takes you there, but you can also find a teleporter that takes you to the Beast Clergyman in the east. Once in Caelid, follow the main path with the Aeonia Swamp on your left. You will also pass the Caelid Highway South Site of Grace. After this, you will come to the Caelid Map Fragment by the Nomadic Merchant on the road.

Dragonbarrow encompasses the northern section of Caelid and it is the region you find the Divine Tower of Caelid. Typically, you can reach Dragonbarrow by clearing the puzzle in Sellia, Town of Sorcery. This will open the path to the northern section of Caelid.

Go to the Church of the Plague – which is part of Millicent’s questline – and head north. You will find an air current you can use to jump up the ledge. Once up here, go through the flaming brick wall and follow the path to the west. You will find the Dragonbarrow Map Fragment just after the pond that has two dragons in it.

The Mountaintop of the Giants West, East, and Consecrated Snow Field Map Fragment

The Mountaintops of the Giants is a fairly linear part of the map, despite its size. Once you pass into the area via the Grand Lift of Rold, you will find the Map Fragment for Mountaintops of the Giants, West on your right before you reach the Zamor Ruins Site of Grace.

As you progress through the area, you will naturally be led towards the Forge of the Giants. Once you cross the big chain leading to the Giants’ Gravepost Site of Grace, the Mountaintops of the Giants, East, Map Fragment will be directly next to the Site of Grace.

Once you’re in the Consecrated Snowfield, go to the area south of Ordina, Liturgical Town. Look for an area that looks like a large tree and you will find the Consecrated Snowfield Map Fragment here.

Siofra River and Mohgwyn Palace Map Fragment

The entrance to the Siofra River is in Limgrave, near the minor erdtree. Once you enter the well and come to a large open area with water, you will find the Siofra Well Map Fragment right before the Hallowhorn Ground area where you find the skull of what looks like a large beast.

You can’t reach Mohgwyn’s Palace until much later in the game. Once here, you will find the Mohgwyn Palace Map Fragment before reaching the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance Site of Grace. As you approach this grace, you will go up some stairs and there will be a corpse sitting on the right who has the fragment.

The Ainsel River is another underground section separate from the Siofra River. When you enter this area, you need to make your way through the region until you come to the room that has the Ainsel River Downstream Site of Grace. The Ainsel River Map Fragment can be found here, in the room of the building below where the large monster is attacking you from. It is found on a corpse resting on a pillar to the right.
