eFootball Co-op mode is just one of the new additions now available in the game. This is part of the latest commemorative update to celebrate the 28th anniversary of Konami’s football titles.
Along with Co-op mode which returns after a successful beta test period, the celebrations will also include new rewards, challenges, and the eFootball festival. Konami has also provided a detailed look back at the eFootball updates since its inception as it strives to enhance the experience for all manner of gamers.

28 years of Konami football
Konami is celebrating its 28th year of football games in 2023. Goal Storm was the first venture into football gaming for Konami way back in December 1995. This was then followed by International Superstar Soccer between 1997 to 2001.
We were then introduced to the classic Pro Evolution Soccer game that many of us will be familiar with. While we may still associate Konami’s football with PES, the Pro Evo series was brought to an end after 20 years in 2021.
A different route has since been pursued as Konami made their eFootball title free to play. This was the first football title of its kind to adopt the model, although its success is still up for debate.
A long wait period for a meaningful update, and a longer and ongoing period waiting for Master League has almost undone the great work done in the PES era. However, with the new Co-op mode, players now have a fun new way to enjoy eFootball.
eFootball Co-op mode
eFootball Co-op mode is now fully available in the game after a successful beta period that ran from June 8 to June 22. Players will once again be able to team up or challenge other users from all over the world in eFootball.
Following the release of Co-op mode, an in-game campaign will also be launched on July 13. By playing a set number of matches, players will earn a variety of rewards in the game too.
The celebratory campaign, The eFootball Festival, will last for four weeks. During the festival, a mixture of Epic players, Show Time contracts, a total of 440,000 GP, and up to 200 coins will be among the rewards.
