Dynasty Warriors Origins is stacked with cameos from figures from the Three Kingdoms period that you’ll come across as your journey unfolds. You can establish and foster links with many of them through Bonds, which is effectively a gauge of the depth of your relationships. As your Bonds rise, you’ll get access to rewards such as Old Coins, equipment, and materials to help spruce up your Guardian of Peace to become an even better fighter. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to increase Bonds in Dynasty Warriors Origins.
How deepen Bonds in Dynasty Warriors Origins
Though you’ll naturally increase your Bonds with officers as you play through the story, there are other optional steps you can take to strengthen your relationship. Dynasty Warriors Origins also features a dedicated feature that offers up advice and hints on how to advance these relationships – the Interactions section of the Shui King Retreat. Be sure to visit often. As for deepening Bonds, you can do so via the following methods:
- Complete requests
- Conversations
- Complete trainings
Requests
One of the best ways to improve Bonds with a specific character is to complete requests. You’ll come across Requests from chapter 2 onwards, typically after successfully completing a major story battle alongside a character. You can then interact with them on the world map to unlock a unique battle scenario that typically involves a minor task such as clearing out bandits or helping them win a fight in one way or another. Alongside a boost to your Bond, you’ll also receive a haul of rewards from Portable Items to Old Coins that you redeem at the Shui Jing Retreat in You province.

Conversations
After major story scenarios, you’ll often see a handshake marker on the world map indicating a conversation you can have with a character. Interacting with them triggers a short dialogue cut scene, such as having a meal together, for example. This is a quick and easy way to deepen your relationship with a specific character, so always scan the world map for opportunities after completing a mission. You can also check for any conversation in the Interactions section of the Shui Jing Retreat to see a list of characters who are wanting to talk or give your requests.
Trainings
Lastly, characters will periodically offer you trainings. These are battle-focused tasks that involve, for example, killing a set number of enemies using a specific skill or weapon, parrying officers a certain number of times, or performing a specific task in a fight. Other than increasing your Bonds, completed trainings also comes with Skill Point rewards, so they are well worth doing. You can spot characters ready to give you trainings by the small blue scroll icon above them.
