Can you go back to Mexico in Death Stranding 2? When you reach Australia during Episode 3 Drawbridge it can feel like Mexico is now off-limits and any return visits aren’t on the cards. It can be particularly frustrating if you have unfinished business there, such as getting all the Mexico connection rewards and upgrades, which include weapons and other gear.
However, press on a little and it becomes clear that you’ll soon have the option to head back to the game’s first region whenever you want. In this guide we’ll explain how you can go back to Mexico in Death Stranding 2. Minor spoiler alter moving forward – avoid scrolling down if you want to unlock the option organically.
Can you go back to Mexico in Death Stranding 2?
You can indeed go back to Mexico in Death Standing 2. The option becomes available once you unlock fast travel via the DHV Magellan after completing Main Order 012 ‘Investigate the Unusual Tar Currents near F1’ towards the end of Episode 3 Drawbridge.Â
Make your way over to West Fort Knot (F1) and take on the mech boss. Once it’s defeated, go inside the West Fort Knot (F1), interact with the Delivery Terminal to deliver the Order, and then leave. As you exit, a cut scene with Fragile will play and you’ll get a tutorial about how to use the DHV Magellan to fast travel to facilities and certain prepper locations not just in Australia but also Mexico.
How to go back to Mexico in Death Stranding 2
To go back to Mexico, board the DHV Magellan (don’t go into your Private Room), tap pause to bring up the map, hold X to switch to the Chart Course overlay, tap R1 to switch to the Mexico map, hover over a destination marked with an icon of the DHV Magellan, and press X to embark. Confirm and after a short wait, you’ll spawn in your chosen location in Mexico. Conveniently, all vehicles, cargo, and gear you have with you when you board the DHV Magellan will travel with you, unlike Hot Spring locations or Transponder Beach Jumps.
Going back to Mexico in Death Stranding 2 isn’t just easy but highly recommended to tie up loose ends once you have better gear and vehicles.
