Is Phantom Liberty a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel?
Not exactly. The Phantom Liberty expansion is not a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel but a DLC (Downloadable content) of the base game. However, the events of the DLC take place within the Cyberpunk 2077 campaign, and if you’re just starting the game, you don’t have to complete the Cyberpunk 2077 story to download and play the Phantom Liberty expansion.Â
Unlike regular DLCs that mostly provide players with minimal new content and few characters, CD Projekt has revealed that the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion is its biggest DLC so far in a game and is easily one of the most graphically demanding DLCs we’ve seen in a while.
So until we get our hands on the Phantom Liberty expansion after it becomes available on September 26, we’re not entirely sure how the events will play out. And like many other video game DLCs, CD Projekt has revealed that players will have to reach a certain point in the Cyberpunk 2077 story to unlock the Phantom Liberty expansion.
