You can play Chained Together either solo or with a group of friends. No matter how many of you there are, you’re bound to have a hellish time. Some friends will be a detriment, others will be saviours. The catch is that with each player added, there is another person bound to the others by chains that connect and weigh you down. You have to work together to escape from Hell and climb into Heaven. But how many others can you bring along with you before it becomes too much? 

How many people can play Chained Together in a group?

Chained Together can be played either solo or in a group of up to four players. Each new player added to the group adds another chain that binds everyone together. That could be a boon or detriment, depending on how well your group coordinates together.

Players have reported that it’s even possible to get a fifth player into the group by using an invite glitch exploit. To do that, there have to be three players in the group. Then, the fourth and fifth players have to join at the same time. If done correctly, the game will load showing that 4/4 slots are occupied, but a fifth player will be present too.

How to play Chained Together solo?

If you don’t want anyone interrupting your ascent from Hell, then you can opt to play by yourself. That can make the game easier if you’re confident in your skills, or it can make it much harder since there’s no safety net of other players helping you out. Here’s how to do it:

• Press Play in the main menu.
• Select Host a Game and set up the player number to 1.
• Create a new lobby and name it.
• Set a password, so nobody else can join, just in case.
• Choose your preferred game mode.
• Click Create Session to start playing solo.
