The aim of this game is to be aggressive yet patient, force your opponents into mistakes, and capitalise on their frustration. In my opinion, this deck is just cruel.
This deck excels in the mid-to-late game, and has plenty of cards with Blocking potential. While it is a starter deck, it’s definitely recommended that more experienced players handle it. This is due to the foresight needed to utilise it effectively, alongside reading your opponents moves to anticipate the best defence.
3. Absolute Justice: Another great control deck
Another starter deck that beginners will have a fun time with is Absolute Justice, which is another preconstructed deck that’s perfect for Tempo and Control archetypes. It’s led by ST06-001 Sakazuki, which is not the card variant that was recently banned in competitive.
ST06-001 Sakazuki has a potent ability to stomp opponents by destroying one of their 0-Cost cards for the price of you paying 3, alongside discarding one of your own. This does mean you are at the risk of Mana Screwing and running out of cards, so you have to use this ability sparsely. Consider employing cost-reduction tactics across your whole deck too, so if you do end up running out of Cost then at least you’re still able to play basic cards.
2. Worst Generation: Best balanced deck
Eustass ‘Captain’ Kid is the Leader championing the Worst Generation deck. It’s unique ability allows it to perform two attacks in a single go, which is best utilised in the late game as you chop away at your opponent’s last remaining Life.
The decklist for the Worst Generation deck is extremely versatile, with the Archetype leaning on the side of removing cards with high power.
1. The Three Captains Starter Deck: Best overall deck
One of the most recent starter decks unleashing into One Piece TCG, the The Three Captains also happens to be one of the more expensive decks. That said though, the premium price definitely nets you a premium deck in return. Not only are cards better, with more foils too, but there’s also a handy plastic deck box to store your cards with too.
A few standout cards included in the deck are ST10-013 Eustass “Captain” Kid, ST10-010 Trafalgar Law (who we’d recommend as a replacement for Sakazuki post-ban) and ST10-006 Monkey D. Luffy. Aside from the three captains leading this deck, each is partnered with a Foil card that plays into their meta perfectly.
Bepo, Roronoa Zoro, and Killer are a few examples. There are 51 cards included in the preconstructed deck, alongside 10 x DON!! cards.
