Narrator – Amelia Tyler

While you won’t see the Narrator in Baldur’s Gate 3, her voice will accompany you across the Forgotten Realms. Amelia Tyler has voiced characters in over 50 video games. Some notable highlights are Malady in Larian Studios’ Divinity Original Sin 2 and Hecate in the upcoming Hades 2. She’s also lived and breathed the world of Dungeons & Dragons as Wendaug in Pathfinder and a role in Bard’s Tale IV.

Astarion – Neil Newbon

Neil Newbon joins Amelia Tyler as one of the major voice actors from We Happy Few landing roles in Baldur’s Gate 3. He also voiced Elijah and Gavin in Detroit Become Human. Neil also did the voice acting for Karl Heisenberg in Resident Evil Village and Zeon in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Shadowheart – Jennifer English

Jennifer English delivered some stunning performances as Leya in Divinity Original Sin 2 and Latenna in Elden Ring. Expect her work in Baldur’s Gate 3 to be no different. Jennifer voices Shadowheart, a Baldur’s Gate 3 companion who can join your adventure.

Wyll – Lanre Malaolu

Unlike some of the others on this list, Lanre is known for his work on screen. With appearances in Casualty, Hollyoaks, and Doctors, he has made quite a name for himself. He has also voiced a character in Annapurna Interactive’s Last Stop. Wyll is another interesting companion in Baldur’s Gate 3 with a past tied to a fiendish pact.

Lae’zel – Devora Wilde

Known primarily for her excellent performance as Julia Boyanova in the Stolen Life series, Devora Wilde has lent her voice to video game characters, too. Fans might recognize her from Total War Warhammer 3 and Battlefield 2042.

General Ketheric Thorm – J. K. Simmons

A legendary actor known for countless prominent roles since 1986, J. K. Simmons props up the voice of General Ketheric Thorm. One of the antagonists of the game, it’s no surprise that Simmons has voiced J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man films. His stirring performance in Whiplash is one to remember so I can’t wait to see him weave his magic in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur's Gate 3 cast and voice actors: An image of the character Minsc in the game.

Minsc – Matthew Mercer

Minsc is one of two legacy Baldur’s Gate characters returning to the latest instalment. Dungeons & Dragons fans will know voice actor Matthew Mercer from the Critical Role show. He also voiced Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Levi Ackerman from Attack on Titan, Jotaro Kujo from JoJo, and Trafalgar Law from One Piece all owe their voices to this incredible voice actor.

Lord Enver Gortash – Jason Isaacs

Trailers show Lord Enver Gortash in an interesting position. A politician supposedly raised by the devil, he designed magic clockwork infantry to protect his city. Known for his work as Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter, Enver Gortash might just be the ambiguous villain who could spice things up in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Gale – Tim Downie

Wizard Gale gets his voice from established actor Tim Downie. You’ll spot him in shows like Good Omens, Paddington, and Outlander. Gale is a personal favourite companion of mine thanks to a magical time bomb ticking in his chest.

Baldur's Gate 3 cast and voice actors: An image of the character Karlach in the game.

Karlach – Shala Nyx

Known for her role in Expeditions Rome, Shala Nyx voices Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3. She has also played roles in The Old Watch and My American Family. We don’t know much about this companion but this is certainly a meaty role with plenty of dialogue.

Alfira – Rebecca Hanssen

Rebecca Hanssen voices Alfira, a bard with a song she can’t seem to finish. She’s best known for her role as Queen Meve in The Witcher series. Expect this character to show up across a couple of side quests in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Volo – Stephen Hogan

A man of tall tales, Volo writes interesting stories in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3. He’s voiced by Stephen Hogan, known for his work as The Goblin King in Divinity Original Sin 2. He’s also been a part of Transformers The Last Knight and Vikings Valhalla.

Orin the Red – Maggie Robertson

Orin joins villains Gortash and Ketheric Thorm as the third main antagonist that players can expect to see in the game. Gamers know of Maggie Robertson from titular roles as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village and Skjóthendi the Unerring in God of War Ragnarok. A trailer describes her as “a practitioner in the art of inflicting pain and a grandmaster of murder.”

Sceleritas Fel – Brian Bowles

The loyal servant to the Dark Urge, players will recognize Sceleritas Fel’s voice. Brian Bowles returns from the charming world of Divinity: Original Sin 2 to voice this being that guides what is arguably the best of Baldur’s Gate 3 origin characters. Expect to get to the bottom of the Dark Urge’s murder spree as Sceleritas tags along for the ride.

Lucretious – Vinegar Strokes

Described by Larian Studios as “the proud leader of an extraplanar circus filled with mummies, redcaps, djinni, dryads, elementals,” Lucretious is an interesting character in Baldur’s Gate 3. She’s voiced by Vinegar Strokes, known for roles in the musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and RuPaul’s Drag Race show.

Captain Grisly – Sophia Nomvete

“A former pirate who retired from a life terrorising the Sea of Swords to become the proud owner of the Blushing Mermaid – one of the roughest taverns in Baldur’s Gate.” Sophia Nomvete of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power fame plays Captain Grisly in the latest Baldur’s Gate title. Expect to learn more once the game leaves Early Access.

Unknown – Doug Cockle

The familiar voice of Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher videogames makes an appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3. While we don’t know what role he will play, I can’t wait to meet this character.

Unknown – Abigail Thorn

Known for their role in Philosophy Tube, Abigail Thorn will also voice a character in the game. We don’t have enough information about her role yet. We’ll find out once Baldur’s Gate 3 releases.

That’s what we know about Baldur’s Gate 3 cast and voice actors so far. Expect more news from Larian Studios as we near the Baldur’s Gate 3 release date. And read up on the Baldur’s Gate 3 companions who can join you across the Forgotten Realms before starting Baldur’s Gate 3.
