How do you get the Blood of Lathander in Baldur’s Gate 3? This legendary weapon is obtained as part of the Find the Blood of Lathander quest. in Rosymorn Monastery/Creche Y’llek. Do you have what it takes to locate the Blood of Lathander and free it?

To obtain the Blood of Lathander, you must survive traps and collect ceremonial weapons. Only then can you obtain this secret weapon. This guide will show you how to get the Blood of Lathander in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to get the Blood of Lathander in Baldur’s Gate 3

To obtain the Blood of Lathander, you must collect the ceremonial weapons from Rosymorn Monastery. After that, you will need to get past the traps leading to the weapon in the Secret Chamber. Let’s break down the steps required to get it.

  1. Obtain the ceremonial weapons
  2. Get the Dawnmaster’s Crest
  3. Get into the Githyanki Creche
  4. Solve the secret room puzzle
  5. Obtain the Blood of Lathander

Obtain the Ceremonial Weapons

There are four weapons that you need to locate in the monastery. First is the Ceremonial Warhammer. This item is located on the roof of the Monastery. Here, you will find two Giant Eagles. They will not attack you unless provoked.

Unfortunately, you will provoke them if you are caught taking the Warhammer from the eagle’s nest. Once you have obtained the Warhammer by either sneaking it away or killing the eagles, you can work on getting the Ceremonial Battleaxe.

On the eastern side of the monastery, you will find a room with a yellow barrier. You can go through the barrier or go around and break the wall with force damage. Once inside, you will see a Guardian of Faith.

Destroy the Guardian of Faith to obtain the Ceremonial Battleaxe. This weapon will be in the middle of the floor.

Next up is the Ceremonial Mace. This one can be a bit tricky but you don’t need a specific weapon for it. If you go downstairs near where the talking statues/busts are, you will find a Rusted Mace. This can be used for the puzzle.

If you want to get the Ceremonial Mace, it is dropped by a Kobold on the first floor of the monastery. Once again, it is not needed if you pick up a Rusty Mace.

The final weapon, the Ceremonial Longsword, is already in place where the puzzle is located in the room with the stained-glass window on the floor.

Get the Dawnmaster Crest – Solve the Stained Glass window puzzle

When you get into the Stained-Glass Window room on the second floor of the monastery, you will see that the longsword as already been placed. Don’t move it. Place the other weapons in the room based on what Dawnmaster they belong to.

  • Dawnmaster Vaseid – Battleaxe
  • Dawnmaster Welkinglory – Longsword
  • Dawnmaster Seed – Warhammer
  • Dawnmaster Stockhold – Mace

You will know when a weapon is in the correct place because the two blue lights will glow. Once all the weapons are placed, pick up the pouch containing the Dawnmaster Crest.

Enter the Githyanki Creche

The Creche opening is located in the back of the Monastery. You will need to pass a few checks to get let inside. This is made easier if you have Lae’zel in your party.

Once inside, make your way to the captain’s quarters. Here, you will be able to hand over the artefact to get let into the deeper part of the Creche. If you choose not to hand it over, you will need to go through combat and fight everyone in the room to get the Gith Shard.

Place the Gith Shard in the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor and follow the path down to where Vlaakith is located. If you are an ally, you won’t need to fight anyone. If you fought the Gith in the captain’s quarters, you will have a fight down here.

Did you know?

If you interact with Vlaakith and deny her will, she will execute you and your entire party on the spot. It is best to save your game prior to entering this area in case a fight breaks out.

Enter the secret room – Solve the statue puzzle

Go through the Inquisitor’s Chamber and find the statue puzzle. This puzzle features two statues of Lathander.

The right statue plaque reads, “Lathander classes the rising, bountiful sun.”

The left statue plaque reads, “Lathander bids the setting sun a fond farewell.”

To solve this puzzle, you need to have the right statue face the east and the left statue face the west. Interact with the statues to move them into the proper position. The left statue will be stuck unless you pass a strength check. To get around this, hit the statue with fire.

Solving this puzzle will open the door to the secret chamber. Once inside, you will need to disable the traps before making it into the room with the legendary mace.

Obtain the Blood of Lathander

Go to the end of the secret chamber to find a pedestal with the legendary mace. To obtain the mace, place the Dawnmaster Crest in the Control Panel with a Unique slot. This will unlock the mechanism, granting you access to the weapon.

If you choose, you can obtain the weapon without the Dawnmaster Crest. Doing so will activate traps around the room and force you into turn-based mode. You and your allies will then need to destroy the Lathander Solar Machines around the room before you get vaporized by a weapon.

The Blood of Lathander in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a great weapon for clerics. We suggest equipping the weapon to Shadowheart if you have her in your party. If not, another cleric will do. The weapon has the following abilities:

  • Lathander’s Blessing: Once per long rest, when your hit points are reduced to 0, you regain 2 – 12 hit points. Allies within 9m also regain 1 – 6 hit points.
  • Lathander’s Light: Sheds holy light in a 6m radius. In combat, fiends and undead standing in the light are Blinded, unless they succeed in a constitution saving throw.
  • Grants the Sunbeam spell
