Balatro is the Poker hit game that’s confusing the industry massively. It’s a card game rogue-like with a twist on the rules of poker in that cheating is a working game mechanic. Of course, though, the way the game ‘cheats’ is predefined by rules and mechanics balancing. You might be wondering if there any real cheats for Balatro, and whether or not there’s a trainer or cheat engine to help you modify the game data.
What cheats are there for Balatro?
At the moment, aside from the game’s in-game cheating mechanics, there’s a few ways to cheat in Balatro. One is through the use of the Balatro Trainer, a software designed to edit the game’s data. With this, you will be able to give yourself the following; Unlimited Money, Adjustable Game Speed, Edit your Money, and Edit Scores.
With certain builds such as the Plasma Deck, this is going to let you side-step the early-to-mid-game phases where your build might not ordinarily be as strong.
This is a screenshot of the Balatro Trainer, which is going to let you tame the game’s rules and worm through impossible situations. It’s a simple UI through which you can adjust and debug the game.
How to unlock everything in Balatro without cheats
There is one thing you can do in Balatro to unlock everything that doesn’t require you to use cheats or any third-party software. Under the profile management section of the game, you’re going to find an Unlock Everything button, which will (as you’ve correctly guessed) unlock everything. If you do end up choosing this, we’d advise that you use a different profile than your main one. At least this way, you’re going to be able to enjoy the game as it was originally intended.
Can you use Cheat Engine with Balatro?
Fortunately, alongside the Balatro Trainer, Cheat Engine is also compatible with the game so you can modify and adjust in-game values. It can be pretty difficult to find numbers in-game to adjust, though a good strategy for finding values like Gold, Time etc, is to look for exact doubles (a data type capable of holding 64bit decimal points.)
Cheat Engine is going to function slightly differently to a Trainer, which will be easier to hack your game with. Instead, with CE, you’re going to be manually manipulating data values in the game in order to give yourself extra Gold or points. It’s little bit of an antiquated method, though it can be really useful for more niche hacks such as manipulating RNG. Good luck finding the addresses, though.
