Much like in Dawnshore and Emerald Stair, you’ll unlock a quest tasking you with finding another of Sanza’s lost cartographer assistants when you reach Shatterscarp. This time around it’s Wilfrith who has gone missing. According to Sanza, Wilfrith’s last letter implies they are stationed near an isolated spire close to the sea.
Given Shatterscarps’ entire southern portion is by the ocean shore, there’s a lot of ground to cover to find the elusive cartographer, especially if you’ve yet to clear the fog of war in this rocky desert biome. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find the cartographer in Shatterscarp in the Avowed Mapping the Living Lands side quest.
Shatterscarp cartographer location
To find the Shatterscarp cartographer, you’ll need to travel to the southeast of the region and follow the coast past Sailor’s Rest and until you roughly south of the Twin Offerings Overlook next to the Sand Sea Oasis. At this point, the quest objective should change, giving you a big clue that you’re in the right place.

From there, you’ll see a large rock spire jutting up from the sea separated from the main land. If you look on the map, you’ll spot the spire quite easily. Move towards it and you’ll find a short path through the rocks. There’s a few enemies hanging around the area so deal with them if they spot you. Jump across the small gap to reach the spire. You’ll then find Wilfrith’s Map resting on the ground next to their body along with a scope, a backpack, and a blue sheet.
You can then fast travel back to Dawnshore and speak to Sanza at his Emporium in Paradis to report your findings. This will wrap up the Shatterscarp portion of the Mapping the Living Lands side quest.
