The subject of some unhelpful comparisons with Bethesda’s Skyrim, Obsidian’s twist the open-world RPG is a tighter, more contained experience, especially in terms of the size of its map. But, that’s not to say, you won’t be covering some decent ground as you investigate the plague ravaging The Living Lands in Avowed

To help you explore new areas, but also backtrack as needed to complete quests, Avowed features a robust fast travel system. It will be familiar to anyone that’s played any type of open or semi open-world game in the past 15 years. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to fast travel in Avowed and where to find all the fast travel beacons in the four major regions – Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, Shatterscarp, and Galawain’s Tusks.

How to use fast travel in Avowed

To fast travel in Avowed, you’ll need to open your map and select an unlocked Fast Travel Beacon. Confirm and you’ll be taken to your selected destination after a short loading screen. You can unlock Fast Travel Beacons by discovering and approaching them when you’re out exploring and questing. These fast travel points, when unlocked, appear on the map as small purple icons of what look like miniature beacons.

Avowed fast travel: beacon.
You’ll find your first beacon as soon as you arrive in Claviger’s Landing. Captured by VideoGamer

The first one you’ll come across is located in Claviger’s Landing (conveniently called the Claviger’s Landing Beacon) at the very start of the Message from Afar main story quest. This quest is the first after the shipwreck and the tutorial, so you’ll reach it very early on. The beacon is on the right of the dock just north of where you disembark from the ship.

The second beacon you’ll likely find is to the north east of Claviger’s Landing in the Fractured Shore. It’s next to the Dehengen’s Cottage where you’ll pursue the Cabin Fever side quest, which involves clearing the home of an invasive horde of xaurips.
