When you visit Solace Keep for the first time, you’ll unlock the Mapping the Living Lands Galawain’s Tusks side quest. It’s the same setup as those in Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, and Shatterscarp: one of Sanza’s assistants has gone walkabout and your job is to track them down so that he can continue putting together his map of the Living Lands.
This time around, you’re on the hunt for Renato who was last seen somewhere near a meteorite crater. Not much to go on then. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find the cartographer in Galawain’s Tusks in the Avowed Mapping the Living Lands side quest.

Galawain’s Tusks cartographer location
To find the cartographer Renato in Galawain’s Tusks, you’ll need to travel to Soreena’s Mercy in the northern portion of the region. It’s a tower just west of the bridge that leads into Solace Keep and right next to the Primordial Depths South Beacon fast travel point.
Head inside the tower and take the stairs up to the second floor. On the right, you’ll see several prison cells. Head for the last one at the back where you’ll find Renato along with a Warden. Talk to either of them to trigger a conversation. Turns out Renato’s been up to a spot of thieving to cover the cost of his expedition.
At this point, you can choose to convince the guard to free him or let him rot in jail and take his notes. Take your pick. If you want to free him, choose the ‘I’ll make sure he doesn’t do it again’ option. Renato will ask that you keep his location quiet when talking to Sanza.
Return the Galawain’s Tusks cartographer’s notes to Sanza
Fast travel back to the Emporium in Paradis Hightown and hand over the notes to Sanza. You can choose to keep Renato’s location secret or spill the beans. The choice is yours. This will wrap up the entire Mapping the Living Lands side quest.
