The X12 debuted in Modern Warfare 2019 as the X16, similar to the RAAL MG. Depending on how quickly they can pull the trigger, gamers can deal serious harm with the semi-automatic pistol. The X12 is one of the strongest weapons in the whole game with a time to kill of four shots, but because it is a pistol, several players did not realize its incredible potential.

Pistols in the Call of Duty franchise often fly under the radar despite possessing immense power and mobility. Arguably one the best secondary weapons to use, the best Modern Warfare 2 X12 loadout is the perfect crutch to fall back on in situations where a weapon swap is faster than reloading or you’re running short on ammunition.

The X12 may seem humble at first, but this handgun is one of the most reliable tools in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Without using the Overkill perk to equip an extra main weapon, you will choose from a limited selection of sub-weapons for each of your Modern Warfare loadouts. The X12 is a sub-weapon that is available right from the start of the game, and it serves as a versatile sidearm for almost any gun.

Overview

In Modern Warfare 2, the X12 fills a particular void thanks to its consistent accuracy and outstanding recoil control. Although most other weapons in the game have higher damage potential than it does, the X12 is still capable of inflicting damage. With the right setup, the X12’s semi-auto firing still enables you to demolish opponents.

The X12 excels in particular when used as a stand-in for primary weapons with poor close-range performance. When operating in tight quarters, sniper rifles like the Signal 50 and marksman rifles like the Lockwood MK2 fail, but the X12 can step in to eliminate approaching enemies.

What it essentially is, is a light, semi-auto 9mm pistol with specialized and tactical modification options so choose your attachments wisely. The polymer frame keeps the weight down, and the integrated rail allows laser attachments. The X12 is your classic, level-1 Glock. There’s nothing fancy going on here; it has low damage, as you would expect, but great mobility and handling. Because the damage is so low, we wouldn’t recommend switching to the pistol and trying to finish enemies off unless you can 100% guarantee they’re one-shot. Otherwise, you’ll mainly be using it for the master movement speeds at the beginning of each round.

Close Range

The X12 is a reliable close-quarters option, as its two-shot kill is long enough to guarantee the user remains competitive up close, making the X12 a great second option to a primary weapon that struggles up close, like a slow-firing LMG or a sniper rifle.

Long Range

The player can effectively engage targets with X12 at long range by pulling the gun down slightly when it starts to overshoot.

Design

The design of the X12 is based on a real-life Glock 17. The Glock 17 was the first pistol designed and manufactured by the Austrian company Glock. It is a locked breech, short-recoil 9 mm Parabellum semi-automatic pistol with a standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds of ammunition. It uses a modified Petter/Browning barrel locking system. The G17 showed up in the early 1980s for the Austrian Army’s weapons trials.

How To Unlock The X12 Pistol

You can unlock guns in Modern Warfare 2 beta by equipping various firearms from the Loadout menu and leveling them up. In Modern Warfare 2’s Gunsmith 2.0. Modern Warfare 2 Beta currently only features two handguns in the weapon class. One is the X13 auto and the other is the X12, which is unlocked at base progression. It is only usable in the secondary slot.

Stats

The X12 fills a specific niche in Modern Warfare 2, with reliable accuracy and top-tier recoil control. Its damage potential is outstripped by most other weapons in the game, but that’s not to say that the X12 is useless in the damage department. The X12’s semi-auto fire still allows you to cut through opponents with the right setup.

Damage

The X12 has low damage, low recoil, and no idle sway. Although the X12’s minimum damage is slightly lower than the Bruen.45, Its damage drops off very quickly to a three-to-four-hit kill over the space of only 2.5 meters. But damage is highly dependent on what range it’s being used at, as performance can fluctuate wildly.

Accuracy

The X12’s accuracy is decent for a handgun, but poor overall. The iron sights are perfectly clear, and the X12’s recoil per shot is manageable.

Fire Rate

The semi-automatic fire rate is also slightly lower than the X13 auto pistol, which means using it without any attachments allows the gun to have a decent fire rate.

Recoil

The X12 has recoil values of 35 to the left and right. Horizontal recoil is mostly irrelevant on the X12, although the vertical recoil is a tad heavy considering it always kicks upwards.

Mobility

The X12 has the standard slick handling aspects one comes to expect from a handgun. The X12 allows users to move at 100% of the base movement speed and strafe at 84% of the base movement speed.

Reload

The X12’s reloads are fast, and the X12 is among the fastest reloading handguns compared to the other two in the game.

Magazine

The X12’s lack of magazine capacity makes it one of the tougher handguns to use on a standalone basis, as it demands good trigger control and good accuracy to ensure the user can take on multiple enemies with a single magazine.

Alternatives to X12

If you find that the X12 doesn’t quite cut it for you, then there are other options for you to try out, such as the Bruen.45 or X13 auto. But the X12 is most commonly compared to the Bruen.45, the other semi-automatic, bullet-firing handgun. The X12 is weaker than the Bruen.45 in almost all facets, having a shorter three-shot kill range, a shorter five-shot kill range, a lower firecap, larger vertical recoil, and a significantly reduced magazine capacity and starting ammo loadout. Outside of close range, the Bruen.45 is a significantly better handgun, especially for those with good trigger fingers.
