Tom Orry, Editorial Director – PES 2014, PS3

I don’t know how I feel about PES 2014. I’ve been playing the PS3 demo for about an hour, and it’s a mixture of brilliance and awkward fumbling. To be fair, this could be largely down to the fact that I’ve been more or less solely a FIFA player this console generation, but it could also be a sign that things aren’t as rosy in PES Land as they could be.

It may be a case that gelling with PES 2014 will take a long time, perhaps offering more rewards to those who are willing to invest the hours. We’ll see, but on first impressions there’s no doubt in my mind that FIFA 14 is the more accessible and enjoyable game.

Simon Miller, Editor-In-Chief – GTA 5, Xbox 360

Please come back Monday at 3pm…

David Scammell, Deputy News Editor – Grand Theft Auto 4, Xbox 360

It’s amazing how you forget all about the fuzz – and no, in this instance I’m not talking about the police. Liberty City’s hazy, mono-coloured look may seem dated by today’s standards, but it’s still every bit the classic it was on arrival.

I’ve never understood a lot of the hate GTA 4’s attracted in recent years. Sure, I don’t agree with parts of Rockstar’s design, especially the sections that are criticised most often (the ‘friends’ system & the sombre tone), but I’ve had loads of fun revisiting ‘The Worst Place In America’ throughout the week.

Anyway, it will be here in just four days time – and the wait is slowly sending me insane. I can’t remember being this excited for the launch of a game since… well, Grand Theft Auto 4, and resisting the temptation to watch over Simon’s shoulder has been pretty unbearable. I guess it’s too late to ask for the day off, right…? Guys?

Steve Burns, Reviews and Features Editor – Child Of Light, PS4, Rayman: Fiesta Run, iOS, Trials Frontier, iOS

With almost everybody avoiding GTA 5 release week like the plague, I’ve spent most of my playing time this week with Ubisoft’s offerings from Digital Days. You can read more about those here . I’ve also been playing a couple of upcoming football titles that I can’t, of course, talk about just yet, but our full verdict is on its way. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a certain open-world crime sim to wait impatiently for.
