My managerial career is definitely on the up. While Spurs didn’t want my services I’ve proven my skills at struggling Nottingham Forest. We ended six points from the Play Offs, which isn’t bad considering I took over with the team adrift at the bottom of the Championship. Things have been tough, with zero transfer budget, so I had to be ruthless with the squad, clearing house in order to try and permanently retain the services of some of the players who I’d signed on loan. Going into my first full season I’m confident of a Play Off place, but automatic qualification to the Premier League is a possibility.

I returned to Super Meat Boy this week, and while I still think it’s a terrific platformer, I also realised it’s a game I sometimes consider physically attacking.
The challenge – especially during bosses – can be so hard, you start to think about punching Super Meat Boy. In the face. What exactly you’d use to do that I don’t know. If I stood there hurling fists at my PS4 I’d probably be sectioned, but its precise nature can be infuriating on occasion.
With all that said, though, it’s a testament to the developer that even the toughest of challenges can be overcome. You just need to stick with it, believe in yourself and eventually, kapow! You’ve somehow moved on. The feeling of satisfaction and achievement when this happens is wonderful too.
So, it’s only fair to say that Super Meat Boy is a metaphor for life. Work hard, don’t give up and you will get to where you need to go.

Just as I was getting ready to settle down for a weekend of Battlefront, those swines over at Treyarch pushed the big red Double XP button and, well, that’s all it took for me to lose my Sunday to Black Ops 3.
I played it so much that it messed up my eyes for the rest of the week. This weekend, though, is Battlefront’s time to shine. Provided I can resist the temptation of the Rainbow Six Siege beta, of course…

I’ve been playing Battlefront pretty relentlessly, and I think there’s now some sort of Stockholm Syndrome at play, because I feel like I have to play it even when I don’t want to. This does mean, however, that I’m now one of the annoying dickhead players that the game is weighted towards, with all the juicy unlocks that let me unfairly dominate matches, actual skill be damned.
At this point you can tell that most of the people who aren’t massive Star Wars fans are getting bored and buggering off. When you look at the names in the lobby it’s full of Starkiller_89 and ObiSnipeKenobi, rather than your more normal hEadSH_t420 dross. I’m sort of not sure which is worse. With the Star Wars lads it’s much less satisfying when you beat them.
