Johnny Garcia

Summary Johnny has been freelance writing since 2017, where he started with writing movie reviews before expanding into video games and trading card games. Though he reviews products from time to time for personal enjoyment, his primary writing comes in the form of card games, be it in the way of tips or explaining how certain mechanic works. He spent many years playing card games competitively and still does to this day. As a teenager, he managed to top a Pokemon TCG Regional event and has won multiple Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments. It was in 2020 that he discovered Magic: The Gathering and instantly fell in love with it. He spent days grinding and learning the metas of the various formats and competes in them on a regular basis. It very quickly became his card game of choice, traveling around the United States just to play and compete in the game. Johnny has an Associate’s Degree in Journalism where he worked inside the newsroom at Cypress College and is currently working on obtaining his Bachelor’s in Strategic Communication from National University.
