Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle gets a new free versus mode

The surprisingly excellent Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle may be getting more paid DLC early next year, but rather than being contented with that developer Ubisoft has today announced its intention to bring local versus multiplayer to the game in a free bonus update tomorrow.

The mode will allow for players to either share a pair of JoyCon controllers or use two Pro Controllers to take each other on on the battlefields, choosing three characters from a pool of eight to make up their squads, each with their own preset loadouts. There’ll also be random bonus items to grab on the battlefield to try and get an advantage.

The mode will also feature adjustable options per match including timers, time or even removing all the items as you see fit. It’ll be available for download from the Nintendo eShop from December 8. Here’s the trailer:
