Final Fantasy 15 release date confirmed, Collector’s Edition announced, playable demo available now

Final Fantasy 15 will release worldwide on September 30, 2016, Square Enix has confirmed. The game will be available simultaneously on PS4 and Xbox One.

As well as the standard edition, a Day One Edition containing a bonus ‘Masamune’ DLC weapon will also be available, along with a two-disc Deluxe Edition containing tie-in CG movie ‘Kingsglaive’, an exclusive car recolor DLC, Royal Raiment costume DLC, and the Masamune. A price for the Deluxe Edition has yet to be revealed.

Alternatively, if you’re after something a little more special, an Ultimate Collector’s Edition containing all of the Deluxe Edition content plus a soundtrack Blu-ray, 192-page hardback artbook, Brotherhood anime and an exclusive 26cm Play Arts Kai Noctis figure, is available for £189.99 from the Square Enix Store. It isn’t known how many units of the Collector’s Edition will be available.

Meanwhile, if you fancy playing the game now, a free demo is available to download on both PS4 & Xbox One offering a standalone story to the full game. The ‘Platinum Demo’ transports players to a dream world where they play as a younger version of lead character Noctis, and become friends with a magical Carbuncle.

Players who download and complete the demo will unlock the Carbuncle as an exclusive summon in the full game.
